Ce court article traite de la traduction de 3 poèmes d'Ernest Dowson par Stuart Merrill en 1905 dans Vers et Prose. Il analyse la métrique dowsonienne et la traduction de Merrill pour montrer non seulement la circulation de la Décadence britannique mais aussi l'hybridation des métriques.

Symptomatic bodies: reading and writing the odor of sanctity in French culture (1868-1901)

Using examples from novels by the Goncourt brothers, Huysmans, Zola and Lemonnier, this paper explores the literary representation of the odor of sanctity in regard to the main epistemological discourses of the second half of the 19th century. In this deeply anticlerical intellectual context, the Christian myth of the odor of sanctity is analyzed by medical professionals and scientists as a pathological phenomenon. Although taking into account the divergent aesthetics of the selected authors, the study focuses mostly on the ambiguity literary texts maintain between the unspeakable experience of religious ecstasy and a symptomatic vision of the body.

It is a common critical tradition to compare a Polish novel and a French one. The article attempts to examine this phenomenon and to State exactly what (or no) relations between both texts, by searching critical judgments of the time and by analyzing the same texts’ level. There are following parallels (typologically, but not genetically determined) to be confirmed: anti-positivist and idealistic attitude of both authors, which have seen their texts as manifestos of outlook ; an intertextual potency of the novels, close related to their hypo- and hypertexts; as well as several, although superficial similarities of stories’ plots. Wearable Sensor for Assessing Gait and Postural Alterations in Patients with Diabetes: A Scoping Review.

Background and Objectives: Diabetes mellitus is considered a serious public health problem due to its high prevalence and related complications, including gait and posture impairments due to neuropathy and vascular alterations and the subsequent increased risk of falls. The gait of patients with diabetes is characterized by alterations of the main spatiotemporal gait parameters such as gait velocity, cadence, stride time and length, which are also known to worsen with disease course. Wearable sensor systems can be used for gait analysis by providing spatiotemporal parameters and postural control (evaluated from the perspective of body sway), useful for investigating the disease progression.…
