Proteomic analysis of the acid-soluble nacre matrix of the bivalve Unio pictorum: detection of novel carbonic anhydrase and putative protease inhibit…
2010
10 pages; International audience; The matrix extracted from mollusc shell nacre is a mixture of proteins and glycoproteins that is thought to play a major role in controlling biomineral synthesis and in increasing its mechanical properties. We investigated the nacreous shell of the freshwater mussel Unio pictorum, to which we applied a proteomics approach adapted to mollusc shell proteins. On one hand, the acid-soluble nacre matrix was fractionated by SDS-PAGE and the five main protein bands (P95, P50, P29, P16, and P12) were digested with trypsin and analyzed by nanoLC-MS/MS followed by de novo sequencing. On the other hand, the acid-soluble nacre matrix was analyzed in a similar manner, w…
Four-, five- and six-coordinated Zn-II complexes of OH-containing ligands: Syntheses, structure and reactivity
2002
Four-, five- and six-coordinated complexes of Zn-II with OH-rich molecules possessing an ONO binding core were synthesized, characterized and their structures were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, The corresponding metal ion geometries were found to be distorted tetrahedral, square pyramidal and octahedral, respectively. The complexes exhibit interesting lattice structures such as layered and corrugated sheets owing to the presence of a number of weak intermolecular interactions. The five-coordinated, water-bound Zn-II complex was studied because of its putative hydrolysis property towards p-nitrophenyl acetate. (C) Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2002.
Early Silurian tholeiitic-boninitic Mailisu ophiolite, South Tianshan, Kyrgyzstan: a geochemical record of subduction initiation
2019
ABSTRACTOphiolite assemblages of the South Tianshan fold-and-thrust-belt (STS) track the sea floor dynamics of the late Cambrian to Carboniferous Turkestan Ocean in the western Central Asian Orogen...
1H NMR and UV-vis spectroscopic characterization of sulfonamide complexes of nickek(II)-carbonic anhydrase. Resonance assignments based on NOE effects
1992
The binding of acetazolamide, p-fluorobenzensulfonamide, p-toluenesulfonamide, and sulfanilamide to nickel(II)-substituted carbonic anhydrase II has been studied by 1H NMR and electronic absorption spectroscopies. These inhibitors bind to the metal ion forming 1:1 complexes and their affinity constants were determined. The 1H NMR spectra of the formed complexes show a number of isotropically shifted signals corresponding to the histidine ligands. The complexes with benzene-sulfonamides gave rise to very similar 1H NMR spectra. The NMR data suggest that these aromatic sulfonamides bind to the metal ion altering its coordination sphere. In addition, from the temperature dependence of 1H NMR s…

Les reptiles et synapsides fossiles de Bourgogne.
2012
Characterization and Evaluation of Hydrothermal Liquefaction Char from Alkali Lignin in Subcritical Temperatures.
2021
An evaluation of hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) char is investigated in this work. Morphological studies, N2 adsorption behavior, FTIR analysis, thermal behavior, and elemental composition are studied. The HTL char yield showed an increase with higher operating temperatures. It increased from 11.02% to 33% when the temperature increased from 573 K to 623 K. At lower temperatures, the residence time showed an impact on the yield, while close to the critical point, residence time became less impactful. Elemental analysis showed that both higher operating temperatures and longer residence times increased the nitrogen content of the chars from 0.32% to 0.51%. FTIR analysis suggested the char b…
Reactivity of cellulose during hydrothermal carbonization of lignocellulosic biomass
2020
Abstract Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of pure cellulose (CE) and birchwood (BW) samples was carried out at temperatures between 160 and 280 °C, 0.5 h residence time and biomass-to-water ratio 1:5, to investigate the reactivity of cellulose in lignocellulosic biomass. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed that the CE samples remained unaltered at temperatures up to 220 °C, but were significantly decomposed at 230 °C producing a thermal recalcitrant aromatic and high energy-dense material. FTIR showed that dehydration and aromatization reactions occurred at temperature equal or higher than 230 °C for the CE samples while a similar incre…
Evaluation of wood-polyethylene composites biodegradability caused by filamentous fungi
2017
Abstract This study describes the impact of filamentous fungi on wood-polymer composites (WPCs) containing various types of fillers (coniferous, deciduous, cellulose) in the amount of 30 wt.% to 50 wt.%. The selection of fungal strain of filamentous fungi was performed prior to the study on the impact of the wood type on the progress of WPCs biodegradability. The changes associated with various water absorption of the examined WPCs, were observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The impact of fungal mycelium, which had affected the changes in WPCs material, was examined using thermogravimetric analysis (TG). The results showed, that the growth of mycelium on WPCs, influenced mainly…
Morphologic variation in the P1 element of Mississippian species of the conodont genus Pseudognathodus
2018
A revision of the Austin Conodont Collection at the Natural History Museum, London, has revealed a diverse assemblage of P1 elements of Pseudognathodus . Pseudognathodus homopunctatus, Ps. lineatus, Ps. mermaidus and Ps. symmutatus are di?erentiated and a new species, Ps. posadachaconae , is de?ned from material from North Wales. The systematic of these species is updated. A revised diagnosis is provided for the genus Pseudognathodus , as well as for the species Ps. lineatus and Ps. symmutatus . The types of Ps. symmutatus cannot be differentiated from immature specimens of Ps. homopunctatus . The evolutionary relationships of Pseudognathodus species are discussed. Stratigraphic distributio…
