The aim of this study was to assess the value of echocardiographic right ventricular (RV) and systolic pulmonary artery pressure (sPAP) assessment in predicting transcatheter tricuspid edge-to-edge valve repair (TTVR) outcome.RV dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension are associated with poor prognosis and are systematically sought during tricuspid regurgitation evaluation. The aim of our study was to evaluate the acute effect of epirubicin (EPI), an anthracycline anticancer drug, on the evolution of cardiac functional parameters and production of reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS). Isolated perfused rat hearts were subjected to 70 minutes of EPI (10.3 microM) infusion and to 5 minutes of isoproterenol (ISO, 0.1 microM) at the end of the protocol. Aims: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of transient local myocardial gene transfer of iNOS on cardiac function in a large mammal animal model of heart failure induced by chronic ischemia. Methods: Chronic myocardial ischemia was induced using a minimally invasive model in 16 landrace pigs. Upon demonstration of heart failure, eight animals were treated with liposome-mediated iNOS-gene-transfer by local intramyocardial injection; eight animals received a sham procedure to serve as control. The Hemodynamic Effects of Ephedrine on the Onset Time of Rocuronium in Pigs

Several studies have found a correlation between the onset time of muscle relaxants, cardiac index, and muscle blood flow. Ephedrine increases these hemodynamic variables and shortens onset time of rocuronium in humans. Our aim in this animal study was to determine the effect of ephedrine on the onset time of rocuronium, cardiac index, and muscle blood flow after administration of thiopental.
