Uno de los elementos más llamativos de las obras dramáticas de tema dionisíaco es quizá el tema de la vestimenta, como elemento de cambio de roles, y el cambio de naturaleza, lo que aporta la base para el menadismo y la androginia de Dioniso. En el presente trabajo, se pretende realizar una visión al respecto de este fenómeno, el del travestismo, partiendo de las obras clásicas completas de tema dionisíaco, Bacantes de Eurípides y Ranas de Aristófanes; y su pervivencia en épocas posteriores, con especial atención a la época bizantina y posterior. At the end of the 19th century, Spanish carnivals have been marked by the participation of the different tunas or also known as, estudiantinas. These groups achieved significant relevance in Galicia, especially in the city of Compostela, which, year after year, encouraged and supported the formation of groups of this nature to liven up the carnivals in the different Spanish cities. The carnival occupies an important place in Sardinia, and attracts the attention of scholars with its continuously renewed meanings and functions. Furthermore, the institution of carnival is one of the cultural traits that has most oriented enhancement, research, re-proposal, revitalization of spontaneous groups and cultural associations: local traditions are re-learned and reworked along with specific identities and new forms of expression. In this sense, we can speak of new carnivals; cultural heritage in new economic and social contexts.
