Abstract This paper presents a global synopsis about the geomorphic evidence of soil erosion in humid and semihumid areas since the beginning of agriculture. Historical documents, starting from ancient records to data from the mid-twentieth century and numerous literature reviews form an extensive assortment of examples that show how soil erosion has been perceived previously by scholars, land surveyors, farmers, land owners, researchers, and policy makers. The present study illustrates the procedures applied for the coordinate system conversion of the historical fumarole positions at La Fossa crater, to allow their comparison with newly acquired global positioning system (GPS) data. Due to the absence of ground control points in the field and on both the old Gauss Boaga and the new UTM WGS 1984 maps, we had to model the transformation errors between the two systems using differential GPS techniques. Once corrected, the maps show a residual Easting shifting, due to erroneous georeferencing of the original base maps; this is corrected by morphological comparative methods. Este artículo presenta la intervención psicológica realizada con una mujer deportista de 19 años que presenta una discapacidad física y cuyo objetivo principal es el de acabar una travesía a nado en mar abierto. Para ayudarla en el logro de su meta, se realizan siete sesiones con una frecuencia de una vez a la semana tomando como punto de partida el modelo de coaching motivacional “La Jirafa de Cantón”, donde el psicólogo genera un entorno facilitador para que el cliente descubra y encuentre sus propias soluciones. A combined single range and single image device for low-cost measurement of building facade features

The dimensions of building facades and window apertures are usually determined by making direct measurements using tapes and plummets. This approach, however, has a number of drawbacks including the physical risk to which the persons making the measurements are exposed. This paper proposes an indirect approach based on close range photogrammetry that is inexpensive, simple, fast and safe, and which does not require specialist staff or direct ground control measurements. L’utilizzo della cartografia nei GIS impone una riflessione sulle caratteristiche che essa deve possedere al fine di consentire le elaborazioni tipiche di questi sistemi e rende necessario verificare quali siano le informazioni che rimangono associate agli oggetti della classe al momento del caricamento dei dati, in formato DXF, all’interno di software GIS. Negli ultimi anni a livello internazionale sono state fissate norme tendenti a individuare linee guida per la definizione della struttura del contenuto semantico della cartografia numerica, delle caratteristiche geometriche e delle relazioni topologiche dell’informazione geografica.
