Key Clinical Message In our case, the use of a low intravenous bolus dose of rFVIIa (recombinant factor VII activated; 15‐20 mcg/kg) was effective and uneventful in controlling late postprocedural PDT bleeding associated with thrombocytopenia that cannot be corrected and after all other treatments failed.

Background The risk of child sexual abuse among non-forensic, non-correctional patients with Pedophilic Disorder (PD) is largely unknown. Methods We recruited a consecutive sample of 55 help-seeking, non-correctional adult men diagnosed with DSM-5 PD at a university-affiliated sexual medicine outpatient unit in Sweden. PD participants were compared with 57 age-matched, non-clinical control men on four literature-based dynamic risk domains and self-rated child sexual abuse risk. Direct oral anticoagulants have suggested a favorable profile compared with vitamin K antagonists. However, the lack of treatment to reverse the effect of direct oral anticoagulants has limited its use in some patients who require rapid reversal of anticoagulation, as those included in the transplant waiting list. Idarucizumab is a recently approved drug to reverse the anticoagulant effect of dabigatran. However, the clinical experience when using this drug is scarce. Herein, we present a clinical case on anticoagulation reversal with idarucizumab to perform heart and lung transplantation in a patient with Eisenmenger syndrome.

Herein, we report all the data from three paucisymptomatic patients during a hospital stay that might represent a paradigmatic example of the method by which SARS-CoV-2 is shed. We demonstrated the lack of an adequate qualitative and quantitative immune response by multiparametric flow cytometry analysis. Only a few cases of iatrogenic lumbar injury have been reported in the literature. A 58-year-old male with severe back pain was admitted to our department. The patient was qualified for the transpedicular stabilization with interbody fixation at L4/L5 and L5/S1 levels. On the first day after surgery, the patient was mobile and reported significant pain relief. He was discharged the same day. After 2 weeks, the patient returned with severe right lower abdominal pain and radicular pain in his right leg. The complaints seemed to have worsened over time with coughing fits 2–4 days a week and the boy not being able to tolerate solid food (leading to vomiting) during the fits. He had previously received a diagnosis of laryngeal carcinoma, which had been treated with laryngectomy and bilateral laterocervical lymphadenectomy, followed by chemotherapy. This preliminary study aimed to investigate the effects of a six-week low-frequency electromyostimulation training (10Hz) on the cardiovascular, respiratory and muscular systems. To that purpose, aerobic capacity, knee extensor muscles strength and architecture, muscle sympathetic nervous activity, blood pressure and heart rate have been evaluated in one healthy male subject (33 year-old, 1.73 m, 73 kg). Results showed improvement of aerobic capacity (+4.5% and +11.5% for maximal oxygen uptake and ventilatory threshold) and muscle strength (+11% and +16% for voluntary and evoked force). The paper presents a comparison of case studies about innovative ICT-supported pedagogical practices in two educational systems, namely Finland and Hong Kong. The two systems were selected for this in-depth comparison for three main reasons. First, Finland and Hong Kong performed well in several international comparative studies of educational achievement. Second, the case studies collected via the SITES Module 2 indicated rather different profiles between Finnish and Hong Kong schools in terms of ICT infrastructure and pedagogical practices.
