Previous studies have suggested that meaning in life may buffer the negative effects of stress. This study is the first to investigate the moderating role of meaning in life in the relationship between the perception of stress and diurnal cortisol in two independent samples of healthy adults. Methods: The participants were 1076 men and women aged 57 to 70 years. To quantitatively assess microvascular dimensions in the eyes of neonatal wild-type and VEGF(120)-tg mice, using a novel combination of techniques which permit three-dimensional (3D) image reconstruction.A novel combination of techniques was developed for the accurate 3D imaging of the microvasculature and demonstrated on the hyaloid vasculature of the neonatal mouse eye.
