Biosilicification in sponges is initiated by formation of proteinaceous filaments, predominantly consisting of silicateins. Silicateins enzymatically catalyze condensation of silica nanospheres, resulting in symmetric skeletal elements (spicules). In order to create tailored biosilica structures in biomimetic approaches it is mandatory to elucidate proteins that are fundamental for the assembly of filaments. In this work, the production and characterization of electrospun scaffolds of the copolymer α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)-DL-aspartamide-graft-polylactic acid (PHEA-g-PLA), proposed for a potential topical release of Ibuprofen (IBU), are reported. The drug has been chemically linked to PHEA-g-PLA and/or physically mixed to the copolymer before electrospinning. Degradation studies have been performed as a function of time in Dulbecco phosphate buffer solution pH 7.4, for both unloaded and drug-loaded scaffolds. The volume is the edition of the old excavations carried out in Segesta, at the Sanctuary of Contrada Mango, between the 1950s and the 1960s of the twentieth century. The sanctuary is located on the south-eastern slopes of Mount Barbaro. It has returned a monumental peribolos and the remains of a peripteral temple. The sacred area documents phenomena of cultural interaction between the Elymian center and the Hellenic environment (Selinuntine first of all) in the Archaic and Classical Ages. Questo articolo esamina i frammenti di vasi attici a figure nere della cosiddetta Grotta Vanella deposito a Segesta, costituito da materiali scaricati dalla cima del Monte Barbaro, a nord Acropoli. Vengono indicate le forme, vengono esaminati i temi e le funzioni figurative delle navi e la distribuzione di alcuni tipi e classi di vasi in diverse fasi cronologiche. In assenza di dati stratigrafici, i dating sono stati stabiliti sulla base dell'attribuzione dei frammenti ai workshop o gruppi di pittori noti e, quando possibile, confrontati con reperti provenienti da contesti archeologici piuttosto datato. Lo scarico di Grotta Vanella a Segesta: revisione di un problema

Il contributo presenta i risultati preliminari del riesame di una parte del materiale proveniente dal cosiddetto scarico di Grotta Vanella a Segesta, sondato tra gli anni Cinquanta e Ottanta del secolo scorso, ubicato sul costone nord-orientale del Monte Barbaro e già riferito ad un’area sacra posta sulla cosiddetta Acropoli Nord, sulla cima della collina. In particolare si analizzano le ceramiche di importazione greca, e nello specifico i vasi figurati attici, al fine di ricostruire le modalità di acquisizione e d’uso di tali prodotti e delle immagini che li decorano, in relazione al contesto sacro di riferimento.

Lo studio si propone di fornire un quadro di riferimento delle importazioni di vasi figurati attici a Segesta, analizzando artisti, forme e iconografia di questa produzione. I frammenti di vasi attici a figure rosse provengono dal cosiddetto deposito della Grotta Vanella a Segesta, che consiste di materiali scaricati dalla cima del Monte Barbaro, l'Acropoli del Nord. L'esame dei reperti ceramici ha mostrato una buona varietà di tipologie formali e la prevalenza di specifiche categorie funzionali dedicate al consumo di vino, che si riflette in altre classi ceramiche.
