Radionuclides in wastewater treatment plants: monitoring of Sicilian plants.

Three Sicilian wastewater treatment plants were monitored to assess the occurrence and the behaviour of radionuclides. Two sampling campaigns (screening and long-term) were carried out during which liquid and solid samples have been analysed. It was found that 131I mostly occurred in the samples analysed during the screening campaign (43% of the analysed samples contained 131I). High 131I specific activity was found in the mixed liquor, recycled sludge and dehydrated sludge samples. This finding was mainly due to the tendency of 131I to be associated with solid particles. During the long-term sampling campaign an influence of the sludge retention time (SRT) on the 131I behaviour was found. …

Decision n. 2334/2018 by Corte di Cassazione represents a revirement with regards to the liability of teachers and more generally, instructors, since it admits these subjects are responsible also for students who are eighteen or “almost eighteen” years old. More specifically, tough, the Court also specifies that at the same time being eighteen plays a relevant role in the burden of proof that, as it is well known, it is established to come from the teacher. The latter will have only to prove the age of his students in order to avoid his responsibility since the harmful event is a casual occurrence.

Sie ist von einer Palissade und möglicherweise einem Graben oder einer zweiten Palisade umgeben und umgrenzt ein ca. 1,5 ha großes Areal. Sie wurde durch den Bau der Rollbahn eines Militärflughafens, bei dem der Innenbereich teilweise abgetragen wurde, stark beschädigt. Das Fundmaterial gestattet keine genauere Datierung. Loss framing effect on reducing excessive red and processed meat consumption: Evidence from Italy

A reduction of meat consumption is crucial for addressing public health problems, especially in industrialized countries. Among low-cost interventions, emotionally provocative health-information strategies could be effective options in fostering meat reduction. Through an online experimental survey, administrated to a quota-based national sample (N = 1142), this study analysed the profile of Italians consuming red/processed meat above World Health Organization (WHO) recommended amounts. Messenger RNA (mRNA) translation efficiency is regulated by microRNAs. Each microRNA is able to regulate the translation of multiple mRNAs and each mRNA is regulated by multiple microRNAs. Thus, cellular mRNAs pool competed for microRNAs pool and viceversa. The regulatory network between mRNAs and microRNAs can be studied in the perspective of Competing Endogenous RNAs or ceRNAs. Here it is presented a bioinformatic study on ceRNAs for human telomerase (hTERT). Global sensitivity analysis for micropollutant modeling by means of an urban integrated approach

The paper presents the sensitivity analysis of an integrated urban water quality system by means of the global sensitivity analysis (GSA). Specifically, an home-made integrated model developed in previous studies has been modified in order to include the micropollutant assessment (namely, sulfamethoxazole - SMX). The model is able to estimate also the interactions between the three components of the system: sewer system (SS), wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and the receiving water body (RWB). Separation of Concerns and Role Implementation in the PASSI Design Process

The use of design patterns proved successful in lowering the development time and number of errors when producing software with the object-oriented paradigm. In previous works we engaged the production of a tool for the reuse of patterns for multi-agent systems. Now we are fronting a new problem: automatic code generation for agents, designed with a specific methodology, with the support of design patterns and using an aspect oriented approach. In this work we present our preliminary experiences in the identification, description, production and use of aspects for multi agent systems and a tool for code production.
