The monsoon onset is documented in terms of latitudinal shift of deep convection areas within the ITCZ using an interpolated version of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Outgoing Longwave Radiation (OLR) at a 5-day time-step over West Africa for the period 1979–2004. Signals in moist convection derived from OLR values lower than 180 W/m2 allow better determination of onset dates (ODs) than the use of other thresholds or of the raw values of OLR. Such ODs are defined without any time filtering or spatial averaging along the meridional plane. Take-off analysis of the Olympic ski jumping competition (HS-106m).

Abstract The take-off phase (approximately 6 m) of the jumps of all athletes participating in the individual HS-106 m hill ski jumping competition at the Torino Olympics was filmed with two high-speed cameras. The high altitude of the Pragelato ski jumping venue (1600 m) and slight tail wind in the final jumping round were expected to affect the results of this competition. The most significant correlation with the length of the jump was found in the in-run velocity ( r =0.628, p n =50). This paper analyzes long-term spatial developments in Finland by focusing on two predictions of the new economic geography (NEG) models, the increasing persistence of locational patterns and the emerging agglomeration shadow, i.e. the rising dominance of growth centers. Pre- and post-war periods are distinguished to roughly express the shift from an agriculture-based economy to a post-industrial country. The analyses base on the assumption that each of the 19 Finnish regions has a center of its own and the rest of the region forms its local hinterland. Introduction & Objectives The goals of transurethral resection of a bladder tumour (TUR) are to completely resect the lesions and to make a correct diagnosis in order to adequately stage the patient. Persistent disease after TUR is not uncommon and is the reason why re-TUR is recommended in T1G3 patients. When there is T1 tumour in the re-TUR specimen, very high risks of progression (82%) have been reported1 and therefore cystectomy is considered to be mandatory. We analyse the tumour stage at re-TUR and the risk of recurrence, progression to muscle invasive disease and cancer specific mortality (CSM) in T1G3 patients treated with BCG.
