Dilepton rapidity distributions from a hadronizing quark-gluon plasma
1995
Abstract We calculate the rapidity distribution of dilepton pairs produced from an evolving quark-gluon plasma assuming a longitudinal scaling expansion with initial conditions locally determined from the rapidity density. These distributions are compared with those from lowest-order Drell-Yan production and semileptonic charm decays.
Recent Developments in Chiral Unitary Dynamics of Resonances
2007
In this talk I summarize recent findings made on the description of axial vector mesons as dynamically generated states from the interaction of peseudoscalar mesons and vector mesons, dedicating some attention to the two $K_1(1270)$ states. Then I review the generation of open and hidden charm scalar and axial states. Finally, I present recent results showing that the low lying $1/2^+$ baryon resonances for S=-1 can be obtained as bound states or resonances of two mesons and one baryon in coupled channels dynamics.
Are solar neutrino oscillations robust?
2004
The robustness of the large mixing angle (LMA) oscillation (OSC) interpretation of the solar neutrino data is considered in a more general framework where non-standard neutrino interactions (NSI) are present. Such interactions may be regarded as a generic feature of models of neutrino mass. The 766.3 ton-yr data sample of the KamLAND collaboration are included in the analysis, paying attention to the background from the reaction ^13C(\alpha,n) ^16O. Similarly, the latest solar neutrino fluxes from the SNO collaboration are included. In addition to the solution which holds in the absence of NSI (LMA-I) there is a 'dark-side' solution (LMA-D) with sin^2 theta_Sol = 0.70, essentially degenerat…
Exploring the D* rho system within QCD sum rules
2013
We present a study of the D* rho system made by using the method of QCD sum rules to determine the mass of possible resonances generated in the same system. Using isospin and spin projectors, we investigate the different configurations and obtain evidences for three D* mesons with isospin I = 1/2, spin S = 0, 1, 2 and with masses 2500 +/- 67, 2523 +/- 60, and 2439 +/- 119 MeV, respectively. The last state can be associated with D-2*(2460) ( spin 2) listed by the Particle Data Group, while one of the first two might be related to D* (2640), with unknown spin parity. In the case of I = 3/2 we also find evidences of three states with spin 0, 1, and 2, respectively, with masses 2467 +/- 82, 242…
Hidden charm molecules in finite volume
2013
In the present paper we address the interaction of pairs of charmed mesons with hidden charm in a finite box. We use the interaction from a recent model based on heavy-quark spin symmetry that predicts molecules of hidden charm in the infinite volume. The energy levels in the box are generated within this model, and from them some synthetic data are generated. These data are then employed to study the inverse problem of getting the energies of the bound states and phase shifts for D (D) over bar or D*(D) over bar*. Different strategies are investigated using the lowest two levels for different values of the box size, and the errors produced are studied. Starting from the upper level, fits t…
One-Pion Charm Baryon Transitions in a Relativistic Three-Quark Model
1998
We study one-pion transitions between charm baryon states in the framework of a relativistic three-quark model. We calculate the charm baryon-pion coupling factors that govern the S-wave, P-wave and D-wave one-pion transitions from the s-wave and the lowest lying p-wave charm baryon states down to the s-wave charm baryon states. For these we obtain: g_{\Sigma_c\Lambda_c\pi}=8.88 GeV^{-1}, f_{\Lambda_{c1}\Sigma_c\pi}=0.52 and f_{\Lambda_{c1}^*\Sigma_c\pi}=21.5 GeV^{-2}. We compare our rate predictions for the one-pion transitions with experimental results.

Inclusive D∗-meson production in ep scattering at low Q2 in the GM-VFN scheme at NLO
2009
Abstract We have calculated the next-to-leading order cross sections for the inclusive production of D ∗ -mesons in ep collisions at HERA for finite, although very small Q 2 . In this Q 2 -range, the same approximations as for photoproduction can be used. Our calculation is performed in the general-mass variable-flavour-number scheme. In this approach, large logarithms of the charm transverse momentum are resummed and finite terms depending on m 2 / p T 2 are kept in the hard scattering cross sections. The theoretical results are compared with recent data from the ZEUS Collaboration at HERA. On average, we find good agreement.

Charm counting in b decays
1996
??? The inclusive production of charmed particles in Z--> decays has been measured from the yield of D-0, D+, D-s(+) and Lambda(c)(+) decays in a sample of events with high b purity collected with the ALEPH detector from 1992 to 1995. From these measurements, adding the charmonia production rate and an estimate of the charmed strange baryon contribution, the average number of charm quarks per b decay is determined to be n(c)=1.230+/-0.036+/-0.038+/-0.053, where the uncertainties are due to statistics, systematic effects and branching ratios, respectively.
