This chapter analyzes the emergence of the heritage-security nexus as a new priority in the international protection and security agenda with a focus on the threats associated with the illicit trade of cultural objects originating from conflict-ridden territories. This contribution deals with relations between regional organizations and the UN Security Council under Chapter VIII of the UN Charter. In this respect, the most recent trends are a shift from subsidiarity to a more equal partnership between these two subjects. The two models of action by delegation or authorization of the Security Council are in fact autonomous. This is demonstrated by the preparatory works of the UN Charter and subsequent practice. The model of authorized regional action enriches the range of instruments that the United Nations Charter provides for the maintenance of peace and collective security.
Uncertainty-Based Internal Quality Control. Harmonization Considerations

Three main quality aspects for analytical laboratories are internal method validation, internal quality control (IQC), and sample result uncertainty. Unfortunately, in the past they have been used in a nonharmonized way. The most universal IQC tool is the mean chart, but some criteria used to fix their control limits do not fit the real nature of analytical results. A new approach for fixing these limits is proposed (the u-approach). Currently their protection is regulated by relevant treaty provisions and the Charter of Fundamental Rights (Charter), both of a primary law nature, as well as by the non-binding European Pillar of Social Rights (Pillar). The article focuses on the recent jurisprudence of first instance labour courts on collective dismissals in the light of the European Social Charter, and it underlines the discrimination in terms of applicable remedies among workers hired before and after 7th March 2020, date of entry into force of legislative decree 23/2015.

In pattern recognition, the selection of appropriate features is paramount to both the performance and the robustness of the system. Over-reliance on machine learning-based feature selection methods can, therefore, be problematic; especially when conducted using small snapshots of data. The results of these methods, if adopted without proper interpretation, can lead to sub-optimal system design or worse, the abandonment of otherwise viable and important features.
