Una scheda per il «Flaminio» di Federico e Pergolesi: «Benedetto, maledetto» tra memoria della scena ed equivoci del popolare

2019

Checca’s canzona ‘Benedetto, maledetto’, the shortest number in "Il Flaminio" (1735) by Gennaro Antonio Federico and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, has often been considered to be a direct quotation or a convincing inimitation of a popular song. In fact, its poetic text derives from the comedy "La Tancia" (1611) by Michelangelo Buonarroti the Younger. In both works the scene shows a therapeutic strategy adopted to stop a (presumed) epileptic seizure. The symbols and rituals described by Buonarroti and Federico refer to popular beliefs that were widespread in Italy, and that were brought to the stage also by the actors of the commedia dell’arte. Igor Stravisky uses Pergolesi’s short piece to i…

L'institut d'histoire des sciences

2016

"Recognition of a Novel Type X=N-Hal•••Hal' (X = , S, P; Hal = F, Cl, Br, I) Halogen Bonding"

2013

The chlorination of the eight-membered platinum(II) chelates (PtCl2{NHC(NR2)N(Ph)C(NH)- N(Ph)C(NR2)NH}) (R = Me (1); R2 = (CH2)5 (2)) with uncomplexed imino group with Cl2 gives complexes bearing the N−Cl moiety (PtCl4{NHC(NR2)N(Ph)C(NCl)N- (Ph)C(NR2)NH}) (R = Me (3); R2 = (CH2)5 (4)). X-ray study for 3 revealed a novel type intermolecular halogen bonding N−Cl···Cl − , formed between the Cl atom of the chlorinated imine and the chloride bound to the platinum(IV) center. The processing relevant structural data retrieved from the Cambridge Structural Database (CSDB) shows that this type of halogen bonding is realized in 18 more molecular species having XN−Hal moieties (X = C, P, S, V…

Heat-induced action potential discharges in nociceptive primary sensory neurons of rats.

2009

Although several transducer molecules for noxious stimuli have been identified, little is known about the transformation of the resulting generator currents into action potentials (APs). Therefore we investigated the transformation process for stepped noxious heat stimuli (42-47 degrees C, 3-s duration) into membrane potential changes and subsequent AP discharges using the somata of acutely dissociated small dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons (diameteror=32.5 microm) of adult rats as a model for their own peripheral terminals. Three types of heat-induced membrane potential changes were differentiated: type 1, heat-induced AP discharges (approximately 37% of the neurons); type 2, heat-induce…

Genesis and destiny : for a dynamogenic’s conception of the myths

2012

If the myth has become today an unavoidable fact to understand the human soul and its different forms of expression, it remains, however, ambiguous and hardly conceptualizing. Indeed, the myth is at once understood as a fictitious narrative which isn’t based on any in-depth reality, but also as a real and highly significant discourse. In order to underline the philosophical meaning of our work, we have begun by assert the myth problem such as it evolves in the European thought. The myth is badly affected by a too long history; it has been divided between rationalism and romanticism. Then, we have questioned other civilizations – Fon from Dahomey, Benin – for whose myth represents all the hu…

Effects of Anandamide and Noxious Heat on Intracellular Calcium Concentration in Nociceptive DRG Neurons of Rats

2007

As an endogenous agonist at the cannabinoid receptor CB1 and the capsaicin-receptor TRPV1, anandamide may exert both anti- and pronociceptive actions. Therefore we studied the effects of anandamide and other activators of both receptors on changes in free cytosolic calcium ([Ca2+]i) in acutely dissociated small dorsal root ganglion neurons (diameter: ≤30 μm). Anandamide (10 μM) increased [Ca2+]iin 76% of the neurons. The EC50was 7.41 μM, the Hill slope was 2.15 ± 0.43 (mean ± SE). This increase was blocked by the competitive TRPV1-antagonist capsazepine (10 μM) and in Ca2+-free extracellular solution. Neither exclusion of voltage-gated sodium channels nor additional blockade of voltage-gate…

Dinuclear alkoxo-bridged copper(II) coordination polymers: Syntheses, structural and magnetic properties

2010

Abstract The alkoxo-bridged dinuclear copper(II) complexes [Cu2(ap)2(NO2)2] (1), [Cu2(ap)2(C6H5COO)2] (2) and [Cu2(ap)2μ-1,3-C6H4(COO)2(dmso)2]·dmso (3) (ap = 3-aminopropanolato and dmso = dimethyl sulfoxide) have been synthesized via self-assembly from copper(II) perchlorate, 3-aminopropanol as main chelating ligand and nitrite and isophthalate anions as spacers and benzoate anion as auxiliary ligand. Complexes 1 and 3 crystallize as 2D and 1D coordination polymers, respectively, and their structures consist of dinuclear [Cu2(ap)2]2+ units connected with nitrite and isophthalate ligands. The adjacent dinuclear units of 2 and 1D polymers of 3 are further connected by hydrogen bonds resultin…

4-Nitrophenyl phosphoric acid and its four different potassium salts: a solid state structure and kinetic study

2006

The structures of 4-nitrophenyl phosphoric acid, H2NPP (1), and its four different potassium salts, K(H2NPP)(HNPP) (2), K(HNPP)·CH3OH (3), K(HNPP)·2H2O (4), and K2(NPP)·4H2O (5), were determined by X-ray diffraction methods. These investigations, together with the study of the role of potassium ions in the hydrolysis of 4-nitrophenyl phosphate, provided information about interactions between the acid, monoanionic and dianionic forms of 4-nitrophenyl phosphate and the potassium cations. In the crystalline state, the H2NPP molecules form one-dimensional chains of bifurcated O–H⋯O hydrogen bonds between phosphate groups. A different network, derived from ladder-like chains of the O–H⋯O hydroge…

Influence of ligand density on the properties of metal-chelate affinity supports.

1993

A new procedure has been developed to immobilize iminodiacetic acid (IDA) onto the surface of silica supports, such as LiChrospher Si-1000 and 1.5-microns nonporous silica, for use in high-performance immobilized metal affinity chromatography (HPIMAC) of proteins. This IDA immobilization method has been achieved through the synthesis of a new silylation reagent, 1-(iminodiacetic acid di-tert-butylester)-3-glycidoxy-propyltrimethoxysilane (IDA-silane). Various modified silicas of different ligand densities have been prepared by using mixtures between 1 and 100% of the IDA-silane diluted with the corresponding 3-glycidoxy-propyltrimethoxysilane (GLYMO-silane). Frontal analysis was used with t…
