Cloud Based Business Processes Orchestration
2014
Abstract As the value concept of the cloud is evolving from a cost-saving mechanism into a growth instrument, more and more organizations are turning to the cloud in an attempt to redesign their core business processes. The opportunity for process innovation is vast, and it will take the disciplined approach of BPM, with the computing understanding and accessibility of the cloud, to make the most of what lies ahead. With the popularity of cloud computing, Platform-as-a Service (PaaS) becomes one of the core technical enablers of enterprises to change the delivery of services to both customers and internal organizations. An application in an enterprise needs to take into account various spec…
Castanea sativa Ancient Trees Across Europe: Genetic Diversity And Conservation Strategy
Long-living trees are witnesses of environmental changes and human interventions; these extraordinary organisms not only represent a historical, landscape and environmental heritage of inestimable value, but they also are a reserve of genetic variability which can considered as a great resource for management programs of forest species. This is the first genetic study on Italian ancient chestnut trees (Castanea sativa Mill.). Ninety-nine ancient trees including the oldest known chestnut in Europe, named ‘Cento Cavalli’, which is believed to be to be between 3,000 and 4,000 years old, were collected. For each tree, more than one sample from canopy and root suckers was collected to test for t…

L'Orchestra di Auschwitz. Inchiesta su Alma Rosé
2023

Introduction: Working Time, Family and Wellbeing
2018
Time is fundamental to the orchestration and synchronisation of the social life of families, communities and societies. Working time has various dimensions that are important for individuals as well as for families, each of the dimensions hold potential outcomes for health and welfare at an individual and family level. Yet not all workers are faced by these challenges equally. Importantly, differences occur based on gender and socio-economic position, which are examined throughout the chapters of this book.
