In the proposed selection of cases, traditional imaging is integrated with contemporary diagnostic tools available in the cath-lab to navigate the potential mechanisms underlying a very rare complication occurring in the recovery phase of dobutamine-atropine stress echocardiography. The data, collected in a time frame of nearly 15 years, provide interesting elements to possibly evolve from speculative considerations to plausible confirmation of the candidate pathophysiological mechanism mediating the occurrence of transmural myocardial ischaemia after beta-blockers administration.

Because of the terrestrial behaviours of this animal, this molting cycle is related to calcium storage and resorption processes. Calcium storage occurs, as calcareous concretions, in diverticula of the midgut called posterior cæca. Aim: Identify predictors for early readmission in patients with COPD and severe exacerbation. Material and methods: Prospective study (July 2017-June 2018) that included all patients hospitalized for an acute exacerbations of COPD. Demographic date, clinical and spirometric parameters, arterial blood gases, length of stay, and evolutive parameters were collected. We used univariate and multivariate statistical techniques to identify risks for readmission. Results: 278 consecutive patients were enrolled. In the terrestrial amphipod Orchestia cavimana, investigations of the variations of the total hemolymphatic calcium during the normal molt cycle revealed that a calcium balance is maintained in intermolt, as observed in numerous crustaceans. During premolt, hypercalcemia occurs, related to the marked calcium reabsorption from the old cuticle, which may promote the storage of a part of this calcium within the midgut posterior caeca. In the present investigation, an HPLC-DAD/ESI-MS method for the complete analysis of tannins and other phenolic compounds of different commercial chestnut bark samples was developed. A total of seven compounds (vescalin, castalin, gallic acid, vescalagin, 1-O-galloyl castalagin, castalagin and ellagic acid) were separated and quantified, being 1-O-galloyl castalagin tentatively identified and found for the first time in chestnut bark samples. Thus, this method provided information regarding the composition and quality of chestnut bark samples, which is required since these samples are commercialised due to their biochemical properties as ingredients of food supplements.
