Tetracationic and Tetraanionic Manganese Porphyrins: Electrochemical and Spectroelectrochemical Characterization
2017
International audience; The electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry of four tetrapositively charged and two tetranegatively charged porphyrins were characterized in two nonaqueous solvents (dimethyl sulfoxide and N,N-dimethylformamide) containing 0.1 M tetra-n-butylammonium perchlorate. The tetrapositively charged compounds are represented by the tetrapyridylporphyrins [TRPyPM]4+(X-)4, where R is a methyl or [2-[2-(2-methoxy)ethoxy]ethoxy]ethyl group, M = MnIIII, MnIIICl, CuII, or PdII, and X = I- or Cl-. The tetranegatively charged porphyrins are represented by the tetrasulfonato derivatives [TPPSMn(OAc)]4-(NH4+)4 and [TArPSMn(OAc)]4-(NH4+)4, where Ar = 4-O-[2-[2-(2-methoxy)ethoxy]eth…
A water molecule in the interior of a 1H-pyrazole Cu2+ metallocage
2016
Water has a great tendency to associate through hydrogen bonding with water molecules or other hydrogen bond donor or acceptor groups. Here the case of a water molecule encapsulated in the interior of a metallocage receptor is presented. The association of four copper(II) ions and two aza-macrocyclic receptors in which two 1H-pyrazole units are connected by cadaverine diamines leads to the inclusion of a water molecule into the cage, as proved by X-ray analysis and infrared spectroscopy. The included water molecule shows no hydrogen bonding with any component of the cage presenting only a weak hydrogen bond with an oxygen atom of a perchlorate counter-anion. The IR stretching vibrations pre…
Electrochemical and spectroscopic studies of poly(diethoxyphosphoryl)porphyrins
2011
Abstract The synthesis and electrochemical characterization of two related series of porphyrins bearing diethoxyphosphoryl groups are reported. One group of compounds is represented as (T( p -R)PP)M where R = phos = P(O)(OEt) 2 and M = Zn(II) or H 2 while the other is represented as (di( p -R)Pdi(phos)P)M where R = P(O)(OEt) 2 , H or CH 3 and M = Zn(II) or H 2 . Each porphyrin was investigated by electrochemistry and thin-layer spectroelectrochemistry in CH 2 Cl 2 , CDCl 3 , CHCl 3 or PhCN containing tetra- n -butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP) as supporting electrolyte. The highly electron-withdrawing P(O)(OEt) 2 groups lead to easier reductions and harder oxidations than the two comparison …

Mossbauer spectroscopic study of the thermal spin crossover in [Fe(II)(isoxazole)(6)](ClO(4))(2)
2008
The (57)Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy of mononuclear [Fe(II)(isoxazole)(6)](ClO(4))(2) has been studied to reveal the thermal spin crossover of Fe(II) between low-spin (S = 0) and high-spin (S = 2) states.Temperature-dependent spin transition curves have been constructed with the least-square fitted data obtained from the Mossbauer spectra measured at various temperatures between 84 and 270 K during a cooling and heating cycle. This compound exhibits an unusual temperature-dependent spin transition behaviour with T(C)(down arrow) = 223 and T(C)(up arrow) = 213 K occurring in the reverse order in comparison to those observed in SQUID observation and many other spin transition compounds. The comp…
