In the processes of embellishment or reconstruction of the Benedictine churches in southern Italy and in Sicily, during the sixteenth century, great care was put in equipping them with magnificent wooden choirs. This contribution retraces an artistic journey that from the abbey of San Martino delle Scale, near Palermo, passing through the complex of SS. Severino and Sossio in Naples, goes back to the abbey of Montecassino. In fact, the latter is the starting point of the sequence of the three choirs examined, with a specific focus on the architectural themes present in them and in particular the series of windows carved into the backs of the upper stalls. Par Latvijas Universitātes Muzeja 2018. gada augusta mēneša priekšmetu tika izvēlēts fotogrāfiju albums “Prezidiju konventa vīru kora koncertceļojums uz Zviedriju un Norvēģiju”. Vairāk par to iespējams uzzināt tam veltītajā virtuālajā izstādē, kurā apskatāmas izteiksmīgākās fotogrāfijas no albuma par Prezidiju konventa vīru kora koncertceļojumu uz Zviedriju un Norvēģiju 1937. gadā.

Kościół św. Barbary w Drogosławiu jako ważny ośrodek cecylianizmu na ziemi kłodzkiej

Idee reformy cecyliańskiej znalazły podatny grunt w Drogosławiu, gdzie w 1911 roku wybudowano kościół filialny ku czci św. Barbary. Dzięki działalności kantora i organisty Bruno Kiefela (1877–1955) po raz pierwszy w hrabstwie kłodzkim wprowadzono tu śpiew chorałowy z udziałem wiernych. Kiefel zasłynął też jako wirtuoz organowy i kompozytor. Na potrzeby utworzonego przez siebie w 1911 roku chóru kościelnego napisał kilkadziesiąt utworów, które cieszyły się dużą popularnością w regionie. Ważnymi wydarzeniami w dziejach miejscowości były walne zjazdy Stowarzyszenia Cecyliańskiego Hrabstwa Kłodzkiego w 1924 i 1933 roku. Ten ostatni połączono z jubileuszem 60-lecia związku. Group synchronization of coordinated movements in a cross-cultural choir workshop

Group synchronisation in choir performance was studied using motion capture. The choir consisted of South-African experts and Finnish novices. 4+4 participants’ movements were recorded during a performance of a traditional song and choreography. The aim of the study was to: 1) describe possible differences in movement implementation between the two groups; 2) investigate synchronicity between all participants and within and between each of the two groups; 3) visualise the dynamics of interpersonal influence. Archeological acoustics is a part of acoustics that studies ancient environments which were dedicated (completely or partly) to sound performing. The combination of this acoustic area in conjunction with room acoustics enables the study of the acoustic evolution of existing buildings (in terms of the historical documentation) or even, make the acoustic reconstruction of rooms which were destroyed or they are in a bad state or in ruins. Repertuar liturgiczny w kościele pw. św. Jana Chrzciciela w Jodłowie na podstawie parafialnego inwentarza muzycznego z 1939 r

W artykule opisano liczący 81 pozycji inwentarz muzykaliów kościoła pw. św. Jana Chrzciciela w Jodłowie na ziemi kłodzkiej. Zbiór składał się w większości z łatwych do wykonania utworów przeznaczonych na czterogłosowy chór mieszany z towarzyszeniem orkiestry lub organów. Miejscowy zespół wokalno-instrumentalny dysponował m.in.: 34 mszami (w tym sześcioma za zmarłych), siedmioma zbiorami graduałów i ofertoriów oraz dziewięcioma litaniami. Dużą grupę muzykaliów stanowiły różnego rodzaju opracowania chóralne pieśni kościelnych, zwłaszcza maryjnych i pogrzebowych. La obra YIZKEREM (del hebreo: Que nuestro Señor los recuerde) es un monumento al Holocausto de la nación judía. Dado que la compositora, Bracha Bdil, pertenece a la comunidad ortodoxa de Europa del Este, muchas de sus obras se basan en la tradición musical de los modos judíos de Europa del Este y los textos de estas fuentes. La fusión de la técnica compositiva contemporánea con los elementos de la antigua tradición judía conduce a la compositora a un lenguaje compositivo muy personal.
