The Choquet and Kellogg properties for the fine topology when $p=1$ in metric spaces
2017
In the setting of a complete metric space that is equipped with a doubling measure and supports a Poincar´e inequality, we prove the fine Kellogg property, the quasi-Lindel¨of principle, and the Choquet property for the fine topology in the case p = 1.

Non absolutely convergent integrals of functions taking values in a locally convex space
2006
Properties of McShane and Kurzweil-Henstock integrable functions taking values in a locally convex space are considered and the relations with other integrals are studied. A convergence theorem for the Kurzweil-Henstock integral is given
Benefit of primary percutaneous coronary interventions in the elderly with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction
2020
Objective Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (P-PCI) has demonstrated its efficacy in patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). However, patients with STEMI >= 75 years receive less P-PCI than younger patients despite their higher in-hospital morbimortality. The objective of this analysis was to determine the effectiveness of P-PCI in patients with STEMI >= 75 years. Methods We included 979 patients with STEMI >= 75 years, from the ATencion HOspitalaria del Sindrome coronario study, a registry of 8142 consecutive patients with acute coronary syndrome admitted at 31 Spanish hospitals in 2014-2016. We calculated a propensity score (PS) for the indication of P-P…
Gender differences in takotsubo syndrome
2022
Background: Male sex in takotsubo syndrome (TTS) has a low incidence and it is still not well characterized. Objectives: The aim of the present study is to describe TTS sex differences. Methods: TTS patients enrolled in the international multicenter GEIST (GErman Italian Spanish Takotsubo) registry were analyzed. Comparisons between sexes were performed within the overall cohort and using an adjusted analysis with 1:1 propensity score matching for age, comorbidities, and kind of trigger. Results: In total, 286 (11%) of 2,492 TTS patients were men. Male patients were younger (age 69 ± 13 years vs 71 ± 11 years; P = 0.005), with higher prevalence of comorbid conditions (diabetes mellitus 25% …
Riemann type integrals for functions taking values in a locally convex space
2006
The McShane and Kurzweil-Henstock integrals for functions taking values in a locally convex space are defined and the relations with other integrals are studied. A characterization of locally convex spaces in which Henstock Lemma holds is given.
On a multiplication and a theory of integration for belief and plausibility functions
1987
Abstract Belief and plausibility functions have been introduced as generalizations of probability measures, which abandon the axiom of additivity. It turns out that elementwise multiplication is a binary operation on the set of belief functions. If the set functions of the type considered here are defined on a locally compact and separable space X , a theorem by Choquet ensures that they can be represented by a probability measure on the space containing the closed subsets of X , the so-called basic probability assignment. This is basic for defining two new types of integrals. One of them may be used to measure the degree of non-additivity of the belief or plausibility function. The other o…
A multidimensional model based on the Choquet integral to evaluate performance of waterfront redevelopment projects in promoting local growth
2012
The paper aim to construct a multi-criteria model assessing the suitability of waterfront development scenarios to contribute to local growth. The model applies to the city of Catania. It is built according to the strategic directions on territorial government recognized by European Community for Sicily. The evaluation model includes a set of strategic criteria for local social and economic sustainability. The aesthetic and functional regeneration of urban waterfront areas is a very complex issue because of the manifold social, environmental and economic implications. The choice among different alternatives of redevelopment of such a kind of areas should be addressed with typical techniques…
