<p>German written sources are representing information on masquerade traditions in Latvia already in the 17th century - Latvian mask parades in 1636 are described by the Kurzeme and Zemgale Superintendent, P. Einhorn. (Jansons 2010: 49). The Cathedral of Palermo was built by the Norman Kings, in the place where a mosque had been erected by the muslim governors of Sicily. The church has many features recalling the norman churches in northern France and in England, whilst some others are due to the contamination of norman, muslim and byzantine culture, that is peculiar of the so-called “arab-norman” architecture of medieval Sicily. Formålet til dette arkivet, kalt «Skolens bibelfortellinger», er å gjøre allment tilgjengelig, bl.a. for forskning, et utvalg på noe over 600 elevtekster. Tekstene stammer fra en større samling skrive- og tegnebøker brukt i skolens religions- og livssynsfag i tiden 1955-2017. Tekstene dokumenterer en omfattende skolefagutvikling. Etter Læreplanverket for Kunnskapsløftet 2020 er såkalt fortellingsdidaktikk nedtonet. Dette arkivet vil inspirere til forsknings- og utviklingsarbeid om store og små kulturtradisjoners / religioners fortellinger og autoritetstilskrevne tekster – og deres relevans for nye elevgenerasjoner.

Abstract This article describes the development of religious education within the system of public education in Latvia. It consists of three parts. The first part deals with the social context of a post-Soviet society and its impact on the development of religious education. The second part describes the four approaches to religious education in public schools that have emerged in Latvia during the last ten years: the confessional approach, the ecumenical Christian approach, the world religions approach, and the Christian ethics approach. The third part analyzes the problems and opportunities presented by the current stage of plurality of approaches.
Suomalaisen perheen yhteisen sukunimen lyhyt historia

Viimeistään 1900-luvulta lähtien on ajateltu, että yhteinen sukunimi symboloi suomalaista perhettä julkisissa yhteyksissä ja muodostaa perheenjäsenten yhteisen identiteetin perustekijän. Suomen lainsäädännön mukaan naiset olivat kuitenkin velvollisia ottamaan aviomiehensä sukunimen vain lyhyen aikaa, 1930-luvulta 1980-luvulle ulottuvalla ajanjaksolla. Pohdin artikkelissani, miksi 1800-luvun lopun ja 1900-luvun alkuvuosikymmenten ajatusmaailma vaikutti hyvin pitkään suomalaisten sukunimistöön. peerReviewed
