Tetrathiafulvalene-Based Mixed-Valence Acceptor-Donor-Acceptor Triads: A Joint Theoretical and Experimental Approach

This work presents a joint theoretical and experimental characterisation of the structural and electronic properties of two tetrathiafulvalene (TTF)-based acceptor-donor-acceptor triads (BQ-TTF-BQ and BTCNQ-TTF - BTCNQ; BQ is naphthoquinone and BTCNQ is benzotetracyano-p-quinodimethane) in their neutral and reduced states. The study is performed with the use of electrochemical, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), and UV/Vis/NIR spectroelectrochemical techniques guided by quantum-chemical calculations. Moors and Christians in the Sicilian figurative and performance tradition

Among the different forms of the East/West dichotomy, one is recursive in the Sicilian figurative and performative tradition: the opposition between Moors and Christians. From ex-voto paintings to some traditional festivals and, above all, puppet theatre, this dichotomy grounds a cosmology, a reference system to convey an order to the world. This essay presents some examples.

Questions de sainteté : vicissitudes des reliques dans le diocèse d'Autun au Moyen Âge

The recent purchase of an authentic manuscript from Flavigny abbey referring to the translation of saints bodies gives an opportunity to assess significiance of relics into the cult of saints in the diocese of Autun (Burgundy) during the Middle Ages. Several data source of piety esspecially dedications, religious references in diplomatic acts, and calendars, gives an evidence of the evolution of devotion and even the recession of some cults among several clerics groups. Besides, those informations show the incidence of the cult of regional saints in construction of Autun diocese, wich is one of the larger dioceses in Burgundy.

This Dissertation focuses on the iconography of the Crucifixion in the Carolingian mural painting between the 9th and the beginning of the 11th century. Pivot in the Christian thought with its dogmatic scope, the Crucifixion remains however poorly represented in the Latin West until the middle of the 8th century. C’est à travers la lecture du Troisième Abécédaire spirituel (1527) ―ouvrage rédigé dans un contexte polémique marqué par la récente condamnation de l’illuminisme par l’Inquisition de Tolède (1525)― que la jeune Thérèse s’est initiée en 1538 à l’oraison de Recueillement.
