The subject of the article, which makes reference to pugna spiritualis - the topos that was popular in the old literature and to speculum - the characteristic form of writing in the 16* century, is discussed on the basis of selected sermons by Fabian Birkowski (devoted to annual holidays) and his Latin orations about saints. The model of knighthood that was defined by the baroque preacher as miles pauperculus is presented through the biographies of holly monks. In Mérida remains a nice funerary stela dedicated to a young girl. For many years the interpretation was that it means a dedication of a teacher to her disciple and therefore a unique example of women teaching in Hispania was imposed. Although this view is still ruled today remains in various studies that false belief. The reality is that there is no evidence that women, except of certain situations associated with the formation of the slaves, developed an educational activity in Rome. This circumstance remained with the triumph of Christianity. Hispania was no exception in the Roman world.

This paper is an attempt to indicate the reasons why a theologian should be interested in other sciences. The openness of the Church towards science is a relevant issue for Christian faith. Its justification today is in a climate of scientific thinking, in which scientific tools of recognising of the world, as well as the scientific picture of the world play an important role. This article will demonstrate the following: 1) the ecclesial reason; 2) the educational reason; (3) the anthropological reason; (4) the ecological reason;(5) the scientifical reason; (6) the kerygmatic-pastoral reason.
Religious Diaspora: A New Approach to Its Existence and Meaning

The present study aims to contribute to the discussion regarding the possibility of conceptualizing a religious diaspora. It proposes a new way of defining it, namely in relation to religious and not to ethno-territorial realities, but without editing the territorial dimension out. After sketching the definition on this theoretical basis, the study refers to six case studies, pointing to the way in which the definitory traits of a religious diaspora are actualized in each situation under study.
