Studying religious music at the grassroots level: a look into the discourse practices of Christian metal bands online

Religious issues are studied in various ways, most prominently by sociologists of religion. This paper suggests that in today’s world of globally intersecting webs of people, places, ideas and action, scholars and readers interested in religion will find themselves benefiting from cross-disciplinary approaches which help them to conceptualize and describe today’s phenomena at different levels. Abstract Following the interesting arguments raised in a recent letter to the editor, about a paper recently published in this journal, the authors are happy to take a cue from them to clarify some facts that have not been sufficiently treated for space. After a description of the methods used, arguments regarding a blunt trauma on the right shoulder with consequent dislocation, the position of the hands on the pubis with brachial plexus injury, and the wrist nailing that caused retracted thumbs are discussed in detail.

The crisis of the third century helped to create conditions for a change in terms of relations between the Roman Empire and Christianity, whose spread resulted, in the upper echelons of the State, in an awareness of the extent of the phenomenon. Projekty kilkunastu okien witrażowych, realizacje mozaikowe, reliefy, a nade wszystko rzeźby odnoszą się do chrześcijańskiej Tradycji skłaniając do refleksji wielu odbiorców. Na terenie Polski znajdują się jego dzieła: monumentalny krucyfiks w kościele pw. św. Antoniego w Pile oraz osiem witraży w kościele pw. św. Marii Magdaleny w Dobrodzieniu przedstawiające wybrane wydarzenia z życia Jezusa.

Al-Tābisī and His Descendants: The Failed Integration of a Military Andalusi Family into the Christian Society of the Kingdom of Valencia (1238–1283)

Although the life of al-Tābisi is shrouded in mystery, the evidence suggests that he was the descendant of one of the Andalusi military lineages that abandoned the Lower Ebro after the Catalonian occupation in the mid-twelfth century. During the Conquest of Valencia, al-Tābisi collaborated with the King of Aragon (probably as a member of the entourage of the sayyid Abū Zayd), with whom he participated in the siege of the city of Valencia (1238) and the subsequent war against al-Azraq (1258). His services were rewarded with land in the Huerta of Valencia, as well as several castles in the southern frontier of the kingdom.
