Northern peatlands consist of a mosaic of peatland types that vary spatially and temporally and differ in their methane (CH4) production. Microbial community composition and environment both potentially control the processes that release carbon from anoxic peat either as CH4 or carbon dioxide (CO2), a less potent greenhouse gas than CH4. Abstract Development of a pharmaceutical form for the superficial infections related with arthroplasties would be helpful for clinical practice. In this context, we set out to evaluate ciprofloxacin and gentamicin elution from systems based on chitosan. Films and semisolid hydrogels containing chitosan alone (2%) or in combination with gelatin (6%) or different proportions (from 12% to 36%) of tetrakis-(hydroxymethyl)-phosphonium-chloride (THPC) were tested as delivery systems. The success or failure of human collective action often depends on the cooperation tendencies of individuals in groups, and on the information that individuals have about each other's cooperativeness. However, it is unclear whether these two factors have an interactive effect on cooperation dynamics. Using a decision-making experiment, we confirm that groups comprising individuals with higher cooperation tendencies cooperate at a higher level than groups comprising individuals with low cooperation tendencies. To support school improvement, understanding the mechanisms that enhance teachers’ engagement in professional learning activities within schools over time is paramount. The purpose of this three-wave longitudinal study is to examine the role of workplace conditions (school leaders’ vision building and teams’ shared goals), in supporting teachers’ engagement in information sharing over time. To test the directionality of the relationships between the concepts, we analyzed survey data from 655 vocational education and training teachers in the Netherlands using a cross-lagged panel model. Managing hate, creating the enemy. Greeks and Carthaginians in Sicily between the Vth and IVth century B. C. This paper’s aim is to consider the historiographic perception of the Carthaginians as the typical and utmost enemy of the Greeks in Sicily, between the end of the Vth and the beginning of the IVth century B. C. The focus is put on the ways the enemy is fabricated and hate managed, through the peculiar part given the Carthaginians by Diodorus in the sieges of Selinous and Motya. In these narratives, the role of hate is fundamental to define the relationship between cultural identity and alterity and between reciprocity and asymmetry.
