Abstract Introduction and objectives The Sociedad Espanola de Cardiologia (Spanish Society of Cardiology) every year awards grants to finance research in the field of cardiovascular diseases. Abstract Introduction and objectives We used bibliometric techniques to analyze the participation of Spanish institutions in research on major cardiovascular topics during the last 4 decades. Methods Bibliometric indicators of production, collaboration and impact were obtained from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database. Search strategies were used in major topics and institutional collaboration networks were identified, represented using the Kamada-Kawai algorithm. To analyze whether cardiac surgical residents can perform their first surgeries without compromising patients' safety or outcomes, by comparing their performance and results to those of senior surgeons. All documented CABGs conducted between 2002 and 2020 were included. Surgeries were divided according to the experience level of the main surgeon (defined by the number of CABG conducted by him/her) using the following thresholds: 1000; 150; 80 and 35. To achieve postnatal adaptation newly born infant need to aerate the lungs, reduce pulmonary vascular resistance, and initiate oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange. The cornerstone of newborn resuscitation resides therefore in the establishment of a functional residual capacity and an adequate oxygenation. Recent guidelines have established guidelines concerning oxygen supplementation in preterm infants in the delivery room (DR); however, they are vague and unspecific. The recently developed configuration interaction exciton model has been applied to study spectral shifts and B800 to B850 energy transfer rates in a series of modified LH2 light harvesting antenna complexes of the purple bacterium Rhodopseudomonas acidophila.
