I will trace the metaphors of voice in the discourses of feminisms as articulated by Judith Fetterley, Kaja Silverman, Julia Kristeva, and Hélène Cixous. I will analyze the presuppositions of their vocal or sound imagery, paying special attention to the implications of the essentialism/constructivism opposition. It is not my intention to provide a comprehensive account of voice in feminisms, nor to make sweeping generalizations on the basis of a very limited corpus. Las obras aquí seleccionadas presentan una novedosa concepción respecto al papel y función de estas antiguas diosas, no solo por ser presentadas con una serie de connotaciones positivas, inexistentes hasta ese momento, sino también por el nuevo rol que adquieren como guardianas del derecho materno, dispuestas a velar no solo por el interés de la madre, sino de todas las mujeres. Análisis de las figuras femeninas en la obra de H. Cixous 'La ciudad perjura o el despertar de las Erinias'. Recently, we published a paper about Cixous' dramatic production. This chapter critically examines Hélene Cixous ' La vllle perjure ou le reveil des Erinyes, 1994, focusing on the Feminine logos. Firstly, we discuss sorne of the problems involved in defining logos and how Feminine logos refutes logocentrism and phallocentrism on the philosophical and literary tradition of the West. Secondly, we examine four different forms of logos represented by four different women on Cixous' play, focusing on the Mother. Medusa esiintyy antiikin mytologiassa käärmehiuksisena naishirviönä, gorgona, jonka kivettävää katsetta rohkeimmatkin miehet pelkäävät. Medusan myytissä esille tulevaa naiskuvaa on käsitelty sekä taiteentutkimuksessa että filosofiassa. Feministifilosofi ja -kirjailija Hélène Cixous (s. 1937) tekee myytistä ironisen tulkinnan, jossa Medusa nauraa häntä vastaan taistelevien miesten turhalle pelolle. Muutamia poikkeuksia lukuun ottamatta ironian ja feministisen filosofian välisiä yhteyksiä ei kuitenkaan ole selvitetty. Mitä Medusan myytti ja ironia tarjoavat feministiselle yhteiskuntakritiikille?
