Percutaneous Femoropopliteal Bypass: 2-Year Results of the DETOUR System
2021
Purpose: This study investigated the 2-year safety and effectiveness of the PQ Bypass DETOUR system as a percutaneous femoropopliteal bypass. Materials and Methods: Seventy-eight patients with 82 long-segment femoropopliteal lesions were enrolled in this prospective, single-arm, multicenter study. The DETOUR system deployed Torus stent grafts directed through a transvenous route. Eligible patients included those with lesions of >10 cm and average of 371±55 mm. Key safety endpoints included major adverse events (MAEs) and symptomatic deep venous thrombosis in the target limb. Effectiveness endpoints included primary patency defined as freedom from ≥50% stenosis, occlusion, or clinically-d…
Früh- und Spätergebnisse der perkutanen transluminalen Angioplastie (PTA) beim Diabetiker
1991
Results of 127 iliac and femoropopliteal transluminal angioplasties in 97 diabetic patients are presented. Patients who had undergone iliac (n = 70), femoral (n = 41), and popliteal (n = 16) angioplasties for stenoses up to 15 cm long were followed up for 6-60 months. In diabetic patients presenting with only claudication or adequate runoff, the 5-year iliac patency rate was 76% and the femoral patency rate was 60%; these results were comparable with those found in non-diabetic patients. For limb salvage, 3-year patency rates were 66% for iliac, 37% for femoral, and 37% for popliteal angioplasties, and 5-year patency rates were 29% for iliac, 7% for femoral, and 0% for popliteal angioplasti…
Effects of Antihypertensive Treatment on Peripheral Flow of the Lower Limbs
1984
The clinical pattern determined in subjects that undergo a high and prolonged pressure regime is defined as “hypertensive disease”.
VS07EXCELLENT LATE OUTCOME WITH DENATURATED HUMAN UMBILICAL VEIN (HUV) IN FEMOROPOPLITEAL BYPASS SURGERY - A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THE IMPORTANCE OF BI…
2009
Purpose: Femoropopliteal bypass with autologous vein provides excellent long term results in lower limb bypass. In case of unsuitable vein generally synthetic PTFE prostheses are preferred. Denaturated human umbilical vein was used as femoropopliteal bypass graft when autologous vein was not available. Long term results of a consecutive single center series are presented. Methodology: HUV was implanted in femoropopliteal position in case of unavailable vein for symptomatic peripheral vascular disease or popliteal aneurysm. Follow-up examinations were performed after 3, 6, 12, 18, 24 months and annually thereafter. Duplex scan was used for detection of potential biodegeneration of the HU…
Preliminary experience with lumbar facet distraction and fixation as treatment for lumbar spinal stenosis
2017
Objectives: To assess the properties of facet fixation with the Facet Wedge system in patients affected by lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). Summary of Background Data: Implant of intra-articular spacers is an emerging technique for lumbar degenerative disease. Methods: This study included forty patients (Group 1) with symptomatic LSS in whom intra-articular spacers have been implanted along with microdecompression (MD) of the neural structures. Group 1 has been compared with a homogeneous group of patients with LSS treated with MD without intra-articular spacers implant (Group 2). Clinical findings have been observed preoperatively and 3, 6, 12 months postoperatively using dedicated questionna…
Das Popliteaaneurysma: Klinik und Diagnostik
1995
PURPOSE To identify clinical and radiological features allowing an early diagnosis of popliteal aneurysms. MATERIAL AND METHODS History, clinical features and radiological findings of 23 patients with 37 aneurysms were reviewed. RESULTS 14 patients presented with a history of a sudden onset of rest pain localised in the calf or foot. Arteriography found popliteal artery occlusion in 12 of them. Amputation was necessary in one patient in spite of immediate diagnosis and therapy. In two cases embolisation of the tibial vessels caused intermittent claudication. In at least 7 patients the underlying disease was not suspected until arteriography was performed. In 16/23 patients the presence of t…
Lumbar facet joint stabilization for symptomatic spinal degenerative disease: A systematic review of the literature
2022
Objective: Lumbar spinal degenerative disease (LSDD), unresponsive to conservative therapy, is commonly treated by surgical decompression and interbody fusion. Since facet joint incompetence has been suggested as responsible for the entire phenomenon of spinal degeneration, facet stabilization can be considered as an alternative technique to treat symptomatic spinal degenerative disease. The purpose of this study was to systematically review the literature for studies utilizing lumbar facet joint fixation techniques for LSDD to assess their safety and efficacy. Methods: A systematic literature review was performed following the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analy…
