Ceramic veneers on central incisors without finish line using bopt in a case with gingival asymmetry

Objectives This clinical case report describes the rehabilitation of central incisors with veneers in a patient with gingival asymmetry. The teeth were prepared without finish line, applying BOPT concepts to correct asymmetry, and obtained a harmoniously integrated restoration with optimal periodontal health. This report describes the case of an edentulous patient with an atrophic maxilla and severe class III malocclusion. Prosthetic rehabilitation was performed using CAD/CAM techniques for manufacturing an implant-supported overdenture with horizontal insertion. A vestibulo-lingual insertion overdenture is a precision prosthesis with a fixation system affording a good fit between the primary and secondary structure. We describe the case of a 67-year-old female patient who presented with an unclear swelling on the right supraclavicular neck, two years after resection of a mucinous carcinoma on the right mastoid. Two pathological reports from separate universities diagnosed the primary mastoid skin lesion as a metastatic adenocarcinoma. Strikingly, GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3) and mammaglobin, both immunomarkers found in breast cancer, were positive. An urgent search for the primary tumor most likely in the breast was commenced.
