Abstract Background: Management of anemia is a common therapeutic challenge in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Luspatercept (ACE-536), a fusion protein containing modified activin receptor type IIB, is being developed for treatment of anemia in lower-risk MDS. This study examines the enactment effect in early Alzheimer’s disease using a novel working memory task. Free recall of action-object instruction sequences was measured in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (n=14) and older adult controls (n=15). Instruction sequences were read out loud by the experimenter (verbal-only task) or read by the experimenter and performed by the participants (subject-performed task). In both groups and for all sequence lengths, recall was superior in the subject-performed condition than the verbal-only condition. Celiac disease results from damage to the small intestinal mucosa due to an inappropriate immune response to a cereal protein. Long-standing or ‘refractory’ celiac disease is associated with an increased risk of autoimmunity and malignancy. We produced a brief literature review starting from a case of duodenal cancer in a celiac patient. The patient with an history of celiac disease since six months presented with acute manifestation of gastric outlet syndrome. Models and Model Transformations Within Web Applications

Unlike traditional single-user desktop applications, web applications have separated memory and computational resources (the client and the server side) and have to deal with multiple user accounts. This complicates the development process. Is there some approach of creating web applications without thinking about web-specific aspects, as if we are developing stand-alone desktop applications? We say, “yes”, and that is where models and model transformations come in handy. The proposed model-driven approach simplifies the development of web applications and makes it possible to use a single code base for deploying both desktop and web-based versions of the software.
