Prolate-oblate shape coexistence in Kr-75
1998
Abstract The collective bands of 75Kr were extended up to spin 45 2 using the compound reactions 50Cr(28Si,2pn), 54Fe(24Mg,2pn) and 58Ni(20Ne,2pn)75Kr. Lifetimes were measured by RDDS with nine OSIRIS detectors in coincidence. Mixing ratios were determined by measurements of internal conversion coefficients, angular distribution and correlations. Deviations between different measurements are explained by the short lifetimes leading to angle dependent intensity losses due to Doppler shift. Spins and parities were assigned from angular distributions, excitation functions and DCO ratios measured with the OSIRIS_12 spectrometer. The band head spin of the negative parity yrast band was establish…
The fusion-fission process in the reaction 34S+186W near the interaction barrier
2014
International audience; The reaction 34S + 186W at Elab=160 MeV was investigated with the aim of diving into the features of thefusion-fission process. Gamma rays in coincidence with binary reaction fragments were measured using the high efficiencygamma-ray spectrometer ORGAM at the TANDEM Accelerator facility of I.P.N., Orsay, and the time-of-flight spectrometerfor fission fragments (FF) registration CORSET of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions (FLNR), Dubna. The couplingof the ORGAM and CORSET setups offers the unique opportunity of extracting details for characterizing the fusion-fissionprocess and gives information regarding production of neutron-rich heavy nuclei. The FF-$\gamm…
Pion induced pion production on deuterium: A Quasifree process
1992
Abstract A detailed experimental analysis of the π+d → π+π−pp in-plane coincidence data first presented by Rui et al. is compared to an expanded version of the Oset and Vicente-Vacas model for pion-induced pion production on a free nucleon. This extended model averages over Fermi motion to describe the assumed quasifree nature of the process occurring on the deuteron and includes nine additional diagrams to account for the N ∗ → N (ππ) p-wave reaction channels. Experimental effects such as pion energy loss in the target and in the detectors, pion decay and muon detection are investigated and incorporated into the comparison of experimental data and theory. Inclusion of Fermi motion was foun…
Some common fixed point results for weakly compatible mappings in cone metric type space
2013
In this paper we consider cone metric type spaces which are introduced as a generalization of symmetric and metric spaces by Khamsi and Hussain in 2010. Then we prove several common fixed point for weakly compatible mappings in cone metric type spaces. All results are proved in the settings of a solid cone, without the assumption of continuity of the mappings.
Tick-borne encephalitis virus, Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato, Borrelia miyamotoi, Anaplasma phagocytophilum and Candidatus Neoehrlichia mikurensis …
2018
The aim of this study was to determine the occurrence of tick-borne pathogens of medical importance in questing ticks collected from five recreationally used islands along the Norwegian coastline. Furthermore, since coinfection may affect the disease severity, this study aimed to determine the extent of coinfection in individual ticks or co-localization of tick-borne pathogens. In all, 4158 questing Ixodes ricinus ticks were analyzed. For detection of tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), nymphs (3690) were analyzed in pools of ten. To detect Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato, B. miyamotoi, Anaplasma phagocytophilum and Candidatus Neoehrlichia mikurensis, 468 nymphs were analyzed individually…
Upstream Product Market Regulations, ICT, R&D and Productivity
2017
Our study aims to assess the actual importance of the two main channels via which upstream anti-competitive sector regulations are usually considered to impact productivity growth, i.e. by acting as a disincentive to business investments in R&D and in ICT. We estimate the specific impacts of these two channels and their shares in the total impact as opposed to alternative channels of investments in other forms of intangible capital that we cannot explicitly consider for lack of appropriate data such as improvements in skills, management and organization. To achieve this, we specify an extended production function explicitly relating productivity to R&D and ICT capital as well as to upstream…
Calibration of the RPC charge readout in the ARGO-YBJ experiment
2012
""The charge readout of Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) is implemented in the ARGO-YBJ experiment to measure the charged particle density of the shower front up to 10^4\\\/m^2, enabling the study of the primary cosmic rays with energies in the ''knee'' region. As the first time for RPCs being used this way, a telescope with RPCs and scintillation detectors is setup to calibrate the number of charged particles hitting a RPC versus its charge readout. Air shower particles are taken as the calibration beam. The telescope was tested at sea level and then moved to the ARGO-YBJ site for coincident operation with the ARGO-YBJ experiment. The charge readout shows good linearity with the particle de…
The ANTARES telescope neutrino alert system
2012
The ANTARES telescope has the capability to detect neutrinos produced in astrophysical transient sources. Potential sources include gamma-ray bursts, core collapse supernovae, and flaring active galactic nuclei. To enhance the sensitivity of ANTARES to such sources, a new detection method based on coincident observations of neutrinos and optical signals has been developed. A fast online muon track reconstruction is used to trigger a network of small automatic optical telescopes. Such alerts are generated for special events, such as two or more neutrinos, coincident in time and direction, or single neutrinos of very high energy.
The role of Institutions in explaining wage determination in the Euro Area: a panel cointegration approach
2016
Over the last 15 years, the evolution of labor costs has been very diverse across EMU countries. Since wages have important second-round effects on prices and competitiveness, and EMU countries do not have the tool of the nominal exchange rate to correct for such imbalances, understanding the determinants of the wage is a matter of increasing concern and debate. We estimate the equilibrium wage equation for the Euro Area over the period 1995-2011 using panel cointegration techniques that allow for cross-section dependence and structural breaks. The results show that the equilibrium wage has a positive relation with productivity and negative relation with unemployment, as expected. We also i…
The euro impact on trade: long run evidence with structural breaks
2012
In this paper we present new evidence on the euro effect on trade. We use a data set containing all bilateral combinations in a panel of 26 OECD countries during the period 1967-2008. From a methodological point of view, we implement a new generation of tests that allow solving some of the problems derived from the non-stationary nature of the data. To this aim we apply panel tests that account for the presence of cross-section dependence as well as discontinuities in the non-stationary panel data. We test for cointegration between the variables using panel cointegration tests, especially the ones proposed by Banerjee and Carrióni- Silvestre (2010). We also efficiently estimate the long-run…
