: Among all cancers, colorectal cancer (CRC) is the 3rd most common and the 2nd leading cause of death worldwide. New therapeutic strategies are required to target cancer stem cells (CSCs), a subset of tumor cells highly resistant to present-day therapy and responsible for tumor relapse. CSCs display dynamic genetic and epigenetic alterations that allow quick adaptations to perturbations. INTRODUCCIÓ:La mobilització de l'angle esplènic del còlon (MAEC) és una maniobra necessària a la cirurgia colorectal. El coneixement anatòmic d'aquesta zona quirúrgica és fonamental per evitar complicacions intraoperatòries. S'han descrit tres tipus de MAEC: anterior, lateral i medial. Clàsicament s'han descrit 3 lligaments que fixen angle esplènic del còlon (AEC): gastrocòlic, frenocòlic i esplenocòlic. Darbs ir uzrakstīts andļu valodā uz 27 lapaspusēm, tajā ir 12 attēli, 2 tabulas un 36 litteratūras avoti. Darba mērķis bija novērtēt, kā samazināta apgaismojuma apstākļi ietekmē redzes funkcijas gados jaunākiem un vecākiem dalībniekiem. Gados jauniem (21 – 35 gadi) un vecākiem (60 – 75 gadi) dalībniekiem tika mērīts augsta un zema kontrasta redzes asums. Mērījumi tika veikti ar un bez pelēki tonētām lēcām, kuru gaismas caurlaidība bija 50 %. Rezultāti parādīja, ka lielāks redzes asuma samazinājums, samazinoties optotipu kontrastam, bija novērojams gados vecākiem dalībniekiem. The human microbiota, in adults, varies in number and species based on the location in the gastrointestinal tract. The highest concentration is at the intestinal level, where mainly Bacteroidetes, Actinobacteria, Firmicutes and proteobacteria are found. Instead, in the oral cavity, five major phyla exists. Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes and Fusobacteria. Variations in the microbiota cause bysbiosis, which is responsible to a great extent for the onset of many diseases including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer (CRC). Colorectal cancer fulfils the conditions required for mass screening. Data from controlled studies indicate that it is possible to reduce colorectal cancer mortality at a population level using faecal occult blood testing. Screenings rely on biennial testing in between 50 and 74average risk subjects. Compliance must be over 50%. Colorectal cancer mortality decrease in this case between 15 and 18% in the general population, 33 and 39% among participants to screening.
