As history of the last centuries has shown, the capitalism and the communism are generating economic crisis, in connection with a deeper crisis, i.e. the spiritual crisis, driven by the tendency of man’s massification,, by which his spiritual qualities are strongly tainted over time. Distributism, promoting widespread ownership of productive ownership, is the only economic frame adequate to the anthropology of the person, namely of a true man.

Micro-geographies of creative industries clusters in Europe: From hot spots to assemblages

2014

The aim of this paper is to provide basic stylized facts about the spatial patterns of location and co-location of clusters of creative industries in Europe. The research proposes a novel methodology for detailing the spatial delimitation of clusters, based on a geo-statistical algorithm and firm-based micro-data. The procedure is applied to a continuous space of 16 European countries and 15 creative industries in 2009. The investigation reveals that creative firms are highly clustered, and that clusters are concentrated in a ‘creative belt’ stretching from the South of England to the South-east of Germany. These clusters are predominantly metropolitan, heterogeneous, cross borders, and may…

With legal systems called to apply a territorial law to a global phenomenon, comparative law proves to be a fundamental tool in the dispute for digital sovereignty, widely employed across legal formants, with a critical role in creating a distinctive identity for the legal systems.

Semantic, Typicality and Odor Representation: A Cross-cultural Study

2005

This study investigated odor-category organization in three cultures by evaluating (i) the relationship between linguistic and perceptual categorization and (ii) the existence of an internal structure of odor categories. In the first experiment, three groups of 30 participants from American, French and Vietnamese cultures performed a sorting task. The first group sorted 40 odorants on the basis of odor similarity, the second group sorted 40 odor names on the basis of name similarity and the last group sorted 40 odor names on the basis of imagined odor similarity. Results showed that odor categorization was based on perceptual or conceptual similarity and was in part independent of word and …
