Among the changes imposed by the pandemic, from the lockdown onwards, the many reorganizations of spaces and times of community, work and school life are to be stressed. The result has been unprecedented experiences of differently lived spaces and lived times that, even in the current pandemic phase, are redesigning the ways of living, working, teaching, and learning, therefore also of educating. The paper focuses on the new educational temporalities of our time, outlining some emerging phenomena. Hence the need to rethink many aspects of educational care and the sense of being community is highlighted, first of all forming new temporal and relational competences.

The role of maternal support of competence, autonomy and relatedness in children's interests and mastery orientation

Abstract The present study investigated the extent to which mothers' support for their children's sense of competence, autonomy and relatedness predicts their children's interest in math and reading, and also their mastery orientation, during the transition to primary school. One hundred fifty-two children were examined twice during their first grade year regarding their interests and mastery orientation (Time 1 and Time 2). The present essay aims to describe the notion of parenting competence by exploring its pedagogical and educational meanings. Parenting is the only educational relationship with a dual feature; in the analysis of co-parenting in contemporary life reciprocity is pointed out. This means that, even if one of the parents is not present, the caregiver has nonetheless a desire of sharing. This article examines the contribution of education in the construction of the culture of peace in 11 educational textbooks for primary students, which were edited in the Autonomous Community of Cataluña in 2009, given that the area is the most explicitly linked to peace. A documentary study was carried out by way of the comparative methodology, along with an analysis of the content through the use of a previously designed and validated instrument favored by independent evaluators. Basado en la teoría de las metas de logro (modelo dicotómico, Nicholls, 1989; y modelo 2 x 2, Elliot y McGregor, 2001), se exploró un modelo en el que se analizaban las relaciones hipotetizadas entre el clima motivacional percibido, la competencia percibida, las metas de maestría y resultado (aproximación y evitación), e indicadores positivos de bienestar (satisfacción con la vida y autoestima).
