Abstract The study proposes a tool developed within the TRNSYS environment aimed at integrating its building simulation features during the use phase with a Life Cycle Assessment approach. Measurement-based load modelling for power supply system design

Load modelling is essential to simulate system features as closely as possible to the effective behaviour. In spite of model complexity, the need for accuracy often leads to a component-based approach, i.e. the analysis of load internal subsystems. It is a common belief that measurement-based load models lead to low accuracy. This paper presents a new, high-accuracy measurement-based load modelling approach to define a power consumption profile load model for power systems design. The load modeling technique is described by an application. Simulation and experimental results are compared. The efficiency and portability of the proposed modelling approach is discussed. ©2008 IEEE.
Adaptive interaction robot control with estimation of contact force

Abstract This paper deals with a new adaptive force-position control of a robotic manipulator based on force estimation. First, an adaptive position controller is derived with contact force component as estimated parameters. Second, a supervisory external loop is added in order to regulate the contact force to the desired value. Extensive simulations with 2-DOF manipulator illustrate the followed approach.
EEMD based analysis of vehicle crash responses

The vehicle crash is a complex process with nonlinear large deformation of structures. The analysis of the crash process is one of the challenges for all vehicle safety researchers. In this paper, the Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) method is applied in the analysis of crash responses in order to achieve some meaningful results. With the help of EEMD, the crash responses are decomposed into a trend signal and some high frequency fluctuations. In recent years, the increasing use of AC-DC converters, especially in the field of renewable energy sources has led to the implementation of new modulation techniques, in particular the ones based on the pulse width modulation. The purpose of the present work is to verify the different behavior that is obtained when the components are subjected to the partial discharge test carried out with a sinusoidal waveform, and when they are subjected to PWM stress-type, similar to the actual signal generated by this type of electronic components. By considering equal rms value of the fundamental sine wave, the comparison has shown different partial discharges patterns.

This paper investigates the detectability of mechanical unbalance in double cage induction motor load using motor vibration signature analysis technique. Rotor imbalances induce specific harmonic components in electrical, electromagnetical, and mechanical quantities.
