These paper aims to present an experimental study for determining the mechanical properties of woven fabrics used for airbags manufacturing. In order to realise the study, there were chosen two types of fabric, one that is coated with silicon and one that is uncoated. The experimental tests that were carried out were uniaxial tension tests for samples extracted on the warp and on the weft direction, the Bias test, a test specific for shear loads and the dome test, a test specific for biaxial loads. Abstract In this paper we continue the analysis of compressible Euler equations for inelastic granular gases described by a granular equation of state due to Goldshtein and Shapiro [Goldshtein A, Shapiro M. Mechanics of collisional motion of granular materials. Part 1: General hydrodynamic equations. J Fluid Mech 1995;282:75–114], and an energy loss term accounting for inelastic collisions. A flux-split algorithm applied to conservative models for multicomponent compressible flows

In this paper we consider a conservative extension of the Euler equations for gas dynamics to describe a two-component compressible flow in Cartesian coordinates. It is well known that classical shock-capturing schemes applied to conservative models are oscillatory near the interface between the two gases. Several authors have addressed this problem proposing either a primitive consistent algorithm [J. Comput. Phys. 112 (1994) 31] or Lagrangian ingredients (Ghost Fluid Method by Fedkiw et al. [J. High order accurate shock capturing schemes for two-component Richtmyer-Meshkov instabilities in compressible magnetohydrodynamics

We design a conservative and entropy satisfying numerical scheme to perform numerical simulations of two component Richtmyer-Meshkov (RM) instabilities in compressible magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). We first formulate a conservative model of a two-component compressible MHD fluid ruled under two ideal gases with different adiabatic exponents. The formulation includes a level set function that allows to evolve the two components of the plasma in a conservative and consistent way. Abstract The field of Compressive Sensing (CS) has provided algorithms to reconstruct signals from a much lower number of measurements than specified by the Nyquist-Shannon theorem. There are two fundamental concepts underpinning the field of CS. The first is the use of random transformations to project high-dimensional measurements onto a much lower-dimensional domain. On the Design of Fast Wavelet Transform Algorithms With Low Memory Requirements

In this paper, a new algorithm to efficiently compute the two-dimensional wavelet transform is presented. This algorithm aims at low memory consumption and reduced complexity, meeting these requirements by means of line-by-line processing. In this proposal, we use recursion to automatically place the order in which the wavelet transform is computed. This way, we solve some synchronization problems that have not been tackled by previous proposals. Optical encryption with compressive ghost imaging

Ghost imaging (GI) is a novel technique where the optical information of an object is encoded in the correlation of the intensity fluctuations of a light source. Computational GI (CGI) is a variant of the standard procedure that uses a single bucket detector. Recently, we proposed to use CGI to encrypt and transmit the object information to a remote party [1]. The optical encryption scheme shows compressibility and robustness to eavesdropping attacks.
