Design and Study of a Wide-Band Printed Circuit Board Near-Field Probe

Magnetic near-field probes (NFP) represent a suitable tool to measure the magnetic field level from a small electromagnetic interference (EMI) source. This kind of antenna is useful as a magnetic field probe for pre-compliance EMC measurements or debugging tasks since the user can scan a printed circuit board (PCB) looking for locations with strong magnetic fields. When a strong H-field point is found, the designer should check the PCB layout and components placement in that area to detect if this could result in an EMI source. Racecar Longitudinal Control in Unknown and Highly-Varying Driving Conditions

This paper focuses on racecar longitudinal control with highly-varying driving conditions. The main factors affecting the dynamic behavior of a vehicle, including aerodynamic forces, wheel rolling resistance, traction force resulting from changing tire-road interaction as well as the occurrence of sudden wind gusts or the presence of persistent winds, are considered and assumed to have unknown models. The end of the 20th century brought a remarkable increase in the field of positioning techniques and communications, making them visible and available to the public, which led to an unprecedented interconnectivity. At the same time, disasters are part of our life. Regardless of their nature, measures can be taken, in order to prevent and mitigate their effects, by anticipative preparation or by avoiding the calamity area (if possible). To this end, this paper presents an integrated system, composed of a software component, a hardware component, and a decision-making human element, all having the declared role of diminishing or eliminating human and material losses.

We present some preliminary results of the numerical simulations of the hydrodynamic characteristics of an abdominal aorta aneurysm (AAA) patient specific test case. Images of the AAA lumen have been acquired in 10 discrete time-steps through a stabilized cardiac cycle by electrocardiogram-gated computer tomography angiography, and are used to approximate the in vivo, time dependent kinematic fields of the (internal) arterial wall. The flow field is simulated by a Smoothed Particle SPH numerical model, where the kinematics of the boundary of the computational domain (the internal aortic vessel) is the one computed by the above procedure. Abstract The electrical power sector must undergo a thorough metamorphosis to achieve the ambitious targets in greenhouse gas reduction set forth in the Paris Agreement of 2015. Optimization and finite-frequency H ∞ control of active suspensions in in-wheel motor driven electric ground vehicles

Abstract In this paper, the parameter optimization and H ∞ control problem of active suspensions equipped in in-wheel motor driven electric ground vehicles are investigated. In order to better isolate the force transmitted to motor bearing, dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) is installed in the active suspension. Parameters of the vibration isolation modules are also optimized in order to achieve better suspension performances. Delay-dependent control for 2-D switched delay systems in the second FM model

This paper is concerned with the problem of delay-dependent H∞ control for 2-D (two-dimensional) switched discrete state delay systems described by the second FM (Fornasini and Marchesini) state-space model. Firstly, some sufficient conditions for the exponential stability and weighted H∞ disturbance attenuation performance of the underlying system are derived via the average dwell time approach.
