LaCoDa: Layered connected topology for massive data centers

One of the fundamental challenges of existing data centers is to design a network that interconnects massive number of servers, and therefore providing an efficient and fault-tolerant routing service to upper-layer applications. Several solutions have been proposed (e.g. FatTree, DCell and BCube), however they either scale too fast (i.e., double exponentially) or too slow. Energy efficiency has gained its significance when service providers' operational costs burden with the rapidly growing data traffic demand in cellular networks. In this paper, we propose an energy efficiency model for Poisson-Voronoi tessellation (PVT) cellular networks considering spatial distributions of traffic load and power consumption. Our knowledge of binding energies of neutron-rich nuclei has experienced a major revision during the last five years due to the introduction of Penning-trap based mass measurements. New mass values for nearly 300 nuclides produced in fission with uncertainties of 10 keV or less have become available. The data produced at three Penning trap facilities at Jyvaskyla, CERN-ISOLDE and Argonne cover all isotopic chains from Ni to Pr, except iodine.
