ABSTRACT Environmental empathy and connectedness to nature are two main constructs that explain variations in pro-environmental behavior. However, little is known about whether environmental (cognitive and emotional) empathy and connectedness to nature might vary as a function of school adjustment. Participants were 881 Spanish adolescents from 12 to 17 years old (47.2% males). The design was a 2 × 2 MANOVA (school adjustment × sex). Abstract trans -β-Ethylstyrene 7,8-oxide, a substrate of cytosolic epoxide hydrolase, and 4-fluorochalcone oxide, an inhibitor of this enzyme, were investigated on induction of sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) in human lymphocytes. Both epoxides enhanced the frequency of SCE. 4-Fluorochalcone oxide at low concentration (2.5μM) inhibited cytosolic epoxide hydrolase activity towards trans -β-ethylstyrene 7,8-oxide in lymphocytes by 74% and had no effect on glutathione transferase activity using this substrate. Laser powder deposition (LPD) is a rapid additive manufacturing process to produce, layer upon layer, 3D geometries or to repair high-value components. Currently there is no nondestructive technique that can guarantee absence of flaws in LPD products during manufacturing. In this paper a laser ultrasonic technique for in-line inspection of LPD components is proposed. Reference samples were manufactured from Inconel and machined flaws were created to establish the sensitivity of the technique. Background The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to evaluate radiologically, the relation between the distance from the cementoenamel junction (CEJ) to the facial bone crest (FBC), and the facial alveolar bone (FAB) width at maxillary anterior teeth. A further aim was to assess if the CEJ-FBC distance had an impact in the prevalence to find a FAB thickness greater than one mm.
