Šis darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 25 lappusēm, 16 attēliem, 1 tabulas un 27 atsaucēm. Gandrīz daudzi cilvēki cieš no iedzimta vai iegūta krāsu redzes deficīta. Tīklenē ir fotopigments, kas ir atbildīgs par krāsu redzi, ko sauc par konusu, kurā konusos esošajam opsinam ir izšķiroša nozīme krāsu uztverē, un viss mehānisms ir pabeigts smadzeņu pakauša daivā. Šis pētījums tika veikts 15 dalībniekiem, veicot krāsu redzamības novērtējumu FM-100, kas veikts datorā ar atšķirīgu fonu, lai zinātu datorizētā izvietojuma testa fona un FM-100 krāsu redzes testa rezultātu sekas. We have previously investigated the effects of a series of dimethoxy- and trimethoxychalcone derivatives, with various patterns of fluorination, on nitric oxide production in LPS-stimulated murine RAW 264.7. The present study was designed to determine if 3,4,5-trimethoxy-4'-fluorochalcone (CH 17) could modulate the production of NO and/or prostaglandins in vivo. On the mouse macrophage cell line RAW 264.7 CH 17 inhibited dose-dependently NO production, with an IC(50) value in the nanomolar range, and reduced PGE(2) levels by a 58% at 10 microM. Chemical composition of lipophilic extractives from grey alder (Alnus incana)

The chemical composition of the lipophilic extractives in the hexane extracts from grey alder bark, knotwood, and cones has been investigated by gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The efficiency of two extraction methods was compared. The highest amount of lipophilic extractives (about 9% of o.d. material) was observed in grey alder cone, while the lowest (about 3%) was found in knotwood. The three different morphological parts of alder showed significant differences not only in the content but also in composition of extractives, namely fatty acids, triglycerides, and triterpenes. Abstract trans -β-Ethylstyrene 7,8-oxide, a substrate of cytosolic epoxide hydrolase, and 4-fluorochalcone oxide, an inhibitor of this enzyme, were investigated on induction of sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) in human lymphocytes. Both epoxides enhanced the frequency of SCE. 4-Fluorochalcone oxide at low concentration (2.5μM) inhibited cytosolic epoxide hydrolase activity towards trans -β-ethylstyrene 7,8-oxide in lymphocytes by 74% and had no effect on glutathione transferase activity using this substrate.
