Sophie Calle, Douleur exquise : le récit de l’intime comme objet de la démarche artistique
2012
Throughout her work, Sophie Calle has never ceased staging herself. Traces and testimonies of her life became the basis of her work that presents itself as a memoir of her existence. In Exquisite Pain, which can be read as a therapeutic move because its aim was to soothe the pain of the end of a love affair, Calle sets up an aesthetics of archives through multiple indications of place and time present in the visual documents as well as in written texts. The artist thus ensures the veracity of the facts exhibited before the spectators, who are voluntarily induced into wondering about how much fiction and seduction are present. This work also allows Calle to bring in the voice of other anonym…
L'histoire des politiques culturelles des villes
1997
The history of cities' cultural policies, Philippe Poivrier. At the crossroads of the renewal of political history and cultural history, a new research area has been open to historians after a heavy occupation of the land by sociologists and political scientists. The article goes into the methodological stakes that accompany the examination of this public treatment of culture. A new approach of the social stakes of our societies could take effect, by giving to contemporary history a goal that has not been very much in evidence until now: the well-argued study of locality.
Pavese indifferente? Parentele segrete fra Gli indifferenti e Il diavolo sulle colline
2022
The article offers a comparison between Alberto Moravia and Cesare Pavese on the basis of two novels: The Time of Indifference (1929) and The Devil in the Hills (1949). After sketching the unfriendly relationship between these writers, I aim to show how close The Devil in the Hills was to Moravia’s poetics through the analysis of themes, imagery and literary ascendance. The essay ends with a close reading of Moravia’s article “Pavese decadente” (1954), generally neglected by critics: its flaws and contradictions help us to understand how close Pavese and Moravia were at a certain moment, despite their plain, mutual animosity.
La circolazione culturale Nord-Sud. Il caso del rapporto tra filosofia italiana e tedesca
2018
Italy and Germany have a long tradition of mutual influence and cultural exchange, both culturally and philosophically. "Philosophia Transalpina" shows transnational lines of reception in case studies and on the basis of selected philosophers and illustrates how useful an exchange of ideas between national philosophical cultures can be

Guest Editors' Introduction: Music as Embodied Experience
2020
Technology has impacted music’s role in contemporary society in extraordinary ways. In addition to how people use music for professional and artistic pursuits, technology has opened a wide variety of new avenues for research and application, particularly as a reliable therapeutic and salutogenic tool. Recently, a useful framework for studying this shifting perspective surrounding musical experience has emerged: embodied music cognition, which conceptualizes the body as being at the center of music experiences. The papers in this thematic issue highlight how music technologies have matured to the point where they affect the way music is created, performed, enjoyed, and researched.
La vocalidad del violín en el norte de Italia en torno a 1600
2021
Throughout the present research I intend to demonstrate the powerful link between the vocal practice in accompanied monody and the way Early Italian violin music ought to be interpreted. Due to the scarce amount of articulation and ornamentation in this music, I consider that historical criteria should be found in order to back up the subjective choices in its performance. According to this, I focus on reviewing sources that describe the vocal practice around 1600, but also contemporary sources in which we can find instructions addressed to bow instruments. Besides, a catalogue of articulations and ornamentations present in early editions of printed violin music is attached. Last, I comment…
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN CONTEMPORARY ITALY
2019
Since the last decades of 1990s, the themes of civic engagement, civic participation and political participation are intertwined with some crucial problems: political disaffection, distrust of institutions, the relationship between representative democracy and deliberative democracy, the role more and more crucial of digital media and social network in creating new forms of participation and in implementing forms of civic engagement inspired by bottom up participation processes. This book tries to answer to some questions about civic engagement raised in many fields of social action: social network, consumption, university, corporate responsibility, marginal urban area, social movements.
