Trajetória docente na transição e na apropriação de tecnologias digitais em práticas de ensino
2018
This study focused on the appropriation of digital technologies by two teachers as an instrument of teaching and instruction in secondary school. We are interested in the teaching trajectory in the transition from traditional practices to hybrid learning contexts. We use mixed methods based on the Grounded Theory and contribution of Theory of Activity and dialogic approach. We chose qualitative research with audio-recorded interview, documental source and field observations of interactions between students in a hybrid context of learning. The main results indicated that the teacher trajectory passes through technological appropriation in: a) conventionalization of a symbolic and semiotic fi…
Children’s Engagement with Mathematics in Kindergarten Mediated by the Use of Digital Tools
2013
The purpose of this chapter is to study children’s engagement with mathematics in kindergarten mediated by digital tools within the context of interactive whiteboard (IWB). Our study reports from a research project aiming at analysing in what ways digital tools may nurture children’s appropriation processes relative to mathematics. In adopting a sociocultural perspective on learning and development, observations together with video recordings have been analysed. Our study shows that the children make sense of the digital tools and are able to apply the tools purposefully due to the interaction with an adult within the zone of proximal development (ZPD). The children externalise their reason…

Distribution patterns of epiphytic reed-associated macroinvertebrate communities across European shallow lakes
2021
So far, research on plant-associated macroinvertebrates, even if conducted on a large number of water bodies, has mostly focused on a relatively small area, permitting limited conclusions to be drawn regarding potentially broader geographic effects, including climate. Some recent studies have shown that the composition of epiphytic communities may differ considerably among climatic zones. To assess this phenomenon, we studied macroinvertebrates associated with the common reed Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. ex Steud in 46 shallow lakes using a common protocol. The lakes, located in nine countries, covered almost the entire European latitudinal range (from <48°N to 61°N) and captured much …
Solubility and stability of liebigite, Ca2UO2(CO3)3·10H2O(cr), in dilute to concentrated NaCl and NaClO4 solutions at T = 22–80 °C
2019
Abstract The solubility and thermodynamic stability of a synthetic liebigite was investigated in NaCl and NaClO4 solutions within a wide range of ionic strength (0.03 m ≤ Im ≤ 5.61 m), pH (7 ≤ pHm ≤ 9, with pHm = –log [H+]) and temperature (22 °C ≤ T ≤ 80 °C) conditions. A comprehensive characterization of the synthetic solid phase using XRD, quantitative chemical analysis, TG–DTA, SEM–EDS, IR and Raman spectroscopy confirmed the stoichiometry of Ca2UO2(CO3)3·10H2O(cr). At room temperature, liebigite remains stable and controls the solubility of U(VI) in the investigated NaCl and NaClO4 systems with Im ≤ 0.51 m. For the same temperature but high ionic strength (5.61 m NaCl), liebigite trans…
Design, Synthesis and Evaluation of Enzyme-Responsive Fluorogenic Probes Based on Pyridine-Flanked Diketopyrrolopyrrole Dyes
2020
The ever-growing demand for fluorogenic dyes usable in the rapid construction of analyte-responsive fluorescent probes, has recently contributed to a revival of interest in the chemistry of diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) pigments. In this context, we have explored the potential of symmetrical and unsymmetrical DPP derivatives bearing two or one 4-pyridyl substituents acting as optically tunable group(s). The unique fluorogenic behavior of these molecules, closely linked to N-substitution/charge state of their pyridine unit (i.e., neutral pyridine or cationic pyridinium), has been used to design DPP-based fluorescent probes for detection of hypoxia-related redox enzymes and penicillin G acylase …
Synthetic routes to novel fluorogenic pyronins and silicon analogs with far-red spectral properties and enhanced aqueous stability
2020
Fluorogenic detection of reactive (bio)analytes is often achieved with "smart" probes, whose activation mechanism causes the release of aniline-based fluorophores. Indeed, the protection-deprotection of their primary amino is the simplest way to induce dramatic and valuable changes in spectral features of the fluorogenic reporter. In this context, and due to their small size and intrinsic hydrophilicity, we focused on pyronin dyes and related heteroatom analogs (i.e., formal derivatives of 3-imino-3H-xanthen-6-amine and its silicon analog) for their use as optically tunable aniline-based fluorophores. To overcome some severe limitations associated with the use of such fluorogenic scaffolds …
El léxico aragonés en relación con el catalán de Valencia durante los siglos XVIII, XIX y XX
2019
The purpose of this paper is to study the historical contact between Aragonese and Catalan lexicon, in the context of the Romance languages, taking into account the historical influence exerted by the Aragonese on the Valencian language, which is also influenced by other Eastern peninsular dialects. We have used a method based on Geolinguistics and documentation, in order to analyze some words from popular authors from Valencia and Aragon of the XVIIIth, XIXth and XXth centuries. This way, our study provides new data and new interpretations on the study of the linguistic contact between the peninsular languages. Also the study provides Valencian words not included in the dictionaries (cosca…
Archaeogenetics and Landscape Dynamics in Sicily during the Holocene: A Review
2021
The Mediterranean islands and their population history are of considerable importance to the interpretation of the population history of Europe as a whole. In this context, Sicily, because of its geographic position, represents a bridge between Africa, the Near East, and Europe that led to the stratification of settlements and admixture events. The genetic analysis of extant and ancient human samples has tried to reconstruct the population dynamics associated with the cultural and demographic changes that took place during the prehistory and history of Sicily. In turn, genetic, demographic and cultural changes need to be understood in the context of the environmental changes that took place…
Selinunte (Sicily) and its productive context: the clayey raw materials applied in a long-lived ceramic production (seventh to third century BCE)
2016
The westernmost of the Greek-Sicilian towns, Selinunte, founded in western Sicily during the second half of the seventh century BCE, gives amazing evidences of a historic activity of ceramic production (seventh to third century BCE). The present study aims to identify the raw materials available in the vicinity of the archaeological site of Selinunte, which were possibly used by the ancient potters, and to characterise them by means of petrographic and chemical techniques. A sampling campaign of clays and sands for tempering was undertaken in the archaeological site and the adjacent area. Moreover, locally produced archaeological bricks and tiles were considered helpful for comparison regar…
