On robustness and dynamics in (un)balanced coalitional games

In this paper we investigate robustness and dynamics for coalitional games with transferable utilities (TU games). In particular we study sequences of TU games. These sequences model dynamic situations in which the values of coalitions of players are not known beforehand, and are subject to changes over time. An allocation rule assigns a payoff to each player in each time period. This payoff is bounded by external restrictions, for example due to contractual agreements. Our main questions are: (i) under which conditions do the allocations converge to a core-element of the game, and (ii) when do the allocations converge to some specific allocation, the so-called nominal allocation? Abstract This paper describes an image acquisition and a processing system based on a new coprocessor architecture designed for CMOS sensor imaging. The system exploits the full potential CMOS selective access imaging technology because the coprocessor unit is integrated into the image acquisition loop. Abstract We investigate two-dimensional phononic metaplates consisting of a periodic array of cups on a thin epoxy plate that is perforated with periodic cross holes. The cups are individually filled with water or remain empty, in view of creating reconfigurable phononic waveguides. Phononic band gaps exist for empty or filled epoxy cups, leading to waveguides defined with either positive or negative contrast. Straight and 90° bent waveguides are considered experimentally. Robust model-following control of parallel UPS single-phase inverters

This paper presents a robust control technique applied to modular uninterruptible power-supply (UPS) inverters operating in parallel. When compared to conventional proportional-integral (PI) control, the proposed technique improves the response of the output voltage to load steps and to high distorted output currents, reducing the distortion of the output voltage. Furthermore, an excellent distribution of currents between modules is achieved, resulting in fine power equalization between the inverters on stream. Inductors operated in quasi saturation in dc–dc converters allow reduction of the core size and realization costs; on the other hand, they imply an increase of dissipated power that can jeopardize the thermal stability of the converter. In this article, this issue is studied by a mathematical model able to represent both the inductor nonlinearity and its temperature dependence. Managing the crisis by embracing game and simulation elements and human participation into an interactive system is a mean to learn about responding to unexpected events.
