Stochastic Stability Analysis for Markovian Jump Neutral Nonlinear Systems

In this paper, the stability problem is studied for a class of Markovian jump neutral nonlinear systems with time-varying delay. By Lyapunov-Krasovskii function approach, a novel mean-square exponential stability criterion is derived for the situations that the system's transition rates are completely accessible, partially accessible and non-accessible, respectively. Moreover, the developed stability criterion is extended to the systems with different bounded sector nonlinear constraints. Finally, some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
Filtering design for two-dimensional Markovian jump systems with state-delays and deficient mode information

This paper is concerned with the problem of H"~ filtering for a class of two-dimensional Markovian jump linear systems described by the Fornasini-Marchesini local state-space model. The systems under consideration are subject to state-delays and deficient mode information in the Markov chain. Stability of genetic regulatory networks with time-varying delay: Delta operator method

This paper investigates the stability problem for a class of uncertain genetic regulatory networks (GRNs) with time-varying delay via delta operator approach. Both the parameter uncertainty and the generalized activations are considered in the model under study. By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the stability and robust stability conditions of GRNs are presented under the delta operator frame. These conditions can be expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is employed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.
Robust Finite-Time Control of Switched Linear Systems and Application to a Class of Servomechanism Systems

This paper investigates finite-time (FT) stability and stabilization problems for a class of switched linear systems with polytopic uncertainties. Both stable and unstable subsystems are considered to coexist in the system, and a new concept of extended FT stability is proposed as the first attempt. A stability criterion is first established, where the admissible maximum switching number is obtained while ensuring extended FT stability of switched linear systems with time-varying delays under a given maximum ratio between the running time of unstable subsystems and the running time of stable subsystems. ROS/Gazebo Based Simulation of Co-operative UAVs

UAVs can be assigned different tasks such as e.g., rendez-vous and space coverage, which require processing and communication capabilities. This work extends the architecture ROS/Gazebo with the possibility of simulation of co-operative UAVs. We assume UAV with the underlying attitude controller based on the open-source Ardupilot software. The integration of the co-ordination algorithm in Gazebo is implemented with software modules extending Ardupilot with the capability of sending/receiving messages to/from drones, and executing the co-ordination protocol. Control Structures in Motivational Psychology

Abstract Motivational processes in psychology have been interpreted from many different viewpoints. In the general case, they present an information feedback structure, with goals and disturbances, in a similar way most control systems behave. In this contribution, this similarity is analysed and examples of motivational processes corresponding to the most common control system structures are given. This comparison will be fruitful from both sides: to explore a new field of control theory application and to provide a new framework to the analysis of these complex processes.
A nonlinear electronic circuit mimicking the neuronal activity in presence of noise

We propose a nonlinear electronic circuit simulating the neuronal activity in a noisy environment. This electronic circuit is ruled by the set of Bonhaeffer-Van der Pol equations and is excited with a white gaussian noise, that is without external deterministic stimuli. Under these conditions, our circuits reveals the Coherence Resonance signature, that is an optimum of regularity in the system response for a given noise intensity.
Dynamics of two competing species in the presence of Lévy noise sources

We consider a Lotka-Volterra system of two competing species subject to multiplicative alpha-stable Lévy noise. The interaction parameter between the species is a random process which obeys a stochastic differential equation with a generalized bistable potential in the presence both of a periodic driving term and an additive alpha-stable Lévy noise. We study the species dynamics, which is characterized by two different regimes, exclusion of one species and coexistence of both. We find quasi-periodic oscillations and stochastic resonance phenomenon in the dynamics of the competing species, analysing the role of the Lévy noise sources.
On the improved Estimation of the Compliance-Parameters of the Physiologically Closed Cardiovascular System

The influence of the type of the sampling-schedule and of the system-excitation with respect to identifiability and estimation-accuracy of the compliance-parameters of a nonlinear model of the physiologically closed cardiovascular system will be investigated. Using the sensitivity-functions of the arterial systemic pressure with respect to the compliance-parameters it will be shown how to select the sample-schedule and system-excitation in order to get optimal estimation-accuracy.
Influence of drag and turbulence modelling on CFD predictions of solid liquid suspensions in stirred vessels

Abstract Suspensions of solid particles into liquids within industrial stirred tanks are frequently carried out at an impeller speed lower than the minimum required for complete suspension conditions. This choice allows power savings which usually overcome the drawback of a smaller particle-liquid interfacial area.
