When a very low damage occurs, the undamaged structural response totally overlaps the damaged one either in time domain or in frequency domain; on the other hand, by considering some characteristics of the analytical signal, such as the phase, it has been possible to develop a damage identification procedure that allows the identification and localization of damage even if the structure experiences multiple damages at the same time. Controlling a Power Factor Corrected (PFC) boost converter is not a trivial task, because the higher the dynamic performance, the higher is the input current distortion. On the other hand, recent applications of these converters require fast transients in response to disturbances, such as sudden variations of load power, reference voltage and input voltage. A new fuzzy adaptive motion control system including on-line extended Kalman''s filter (EKF) for wheeled underactuated cars with non-holonomic constraints on the motion is presented. The presence of parametric uncertainties in the kinematics and in the dynamics is treated using suitable differential adaptation laws. We merge adaptive control with fuzzy inference system. By using fuzzy system, the parameters of the kinematical controller are functions of the lateral, longitudinal and orientation errors of the motion. This paper discusses modeling aspects related to dynamic analysis of deep water drilling risers. These risers must have a heave compensator that maintains a near constant tension in the riser independent on platform motions. Traditional riser analysis will apply constant top tension or a simple parametric model that may give approximate tension variation. A parametric study on unbalanced three phase islanded microgrids with inverter interfaced units

In this paper, the solution of the power flow for unbalanced three phase microgrids systems is proposed. The study aims at the integration of inverter interfaced units using the control law used for primary voltage and frequency regulation, so as to take into account possible small variations of these parameters to account for sudden load changes. The proposed study deals with unbalanced systems which is the typical case of small distribution systems and shows how the power losses term varies as the regulators parameters vary as well, thus showing that these are sensitive parameters that could have an important role in optimal management of such systems.

Abstract This paper presents implementation details of the adaptive robust predictive current control (ARPCC) applied to a grid-connected converter, such as feed-forward cancellation protocol, the selection of the observer gain and adaptive parameters or the sampling options, needed to get the best performance of this control. In this paper, a new predictive control for grid-connected inverters is presented, which provides the best performance in terms of transient response and stability margins when analog filters in current sensing circuits are used. These filters are necessary to avoid aliasing in the A/D conversion process, which causes an important ripple on injected current into the grid and increases the total harmonic distortion. In this paper, a criterion for predicting the reliability of freeway traffic flow is presented. The idea is based on an analysis of spot speed time series divided into sequences of events of random and homogeneous traffic processes. For each process, the flow rate and density were calculated; then the relationships between parameters of spot speed processes and vehicular density were obtained. Using these relationships and a simulation procedure for the spot speed process, a formulation for predicting the reliability of traffic flow moving along the offside lane on the freeway roadway was derived. New Solution for Telescopic Robotic Arm

This paper deals with a Robotic arm actuated by a monomobil telescopic planetary gear and servo DC motor. Experimental model of robot was designed and manufactured at the Faculty of Engineering from Sibiu, (Patent no. 112418 CI6.B25J 18/02). The Servo DC as actuator drives a reel. Wires on the reel will produce displacement of telescopic modules from robotic arm structure. The reference as a voltage for future arm displacement is provided by a PWM generator. The rotation of the reel in one way or another has the effect of lengthening or shortening robotic arm. Robotic arm length is directly related to the PWM signal. Control of robotic arm positioning is done with a linear transducer.
