Abstract This paper proposes an input–output (IO) approach to the delay-dependent stability analysis and H ∞ controller synthesis for a class of continuous-time Markovian jump linear systems (MJLSs). Abstract A simplified version of the dynamic pressure method for measuring mass-transfer coefficients in gas–liquid systems is proposed. With this method oxygen concentration in the liquid phase is monitored after a sudden change of total pressure is applied to the system. Partial discharge behavior under single phase half and full-bridge rectifier

The aim of the present work is to simulate partial discharges (PDs) phenomena under voltage stress close to the Direct Current (DC) waveform. The employed waveforms have been realized by using a full-wave and a half-wave rectifiers. After that, in order to generate a steadier voltage supply, a capacitive filter has been inserted in the output of the half-wave rectifier. Simulations have been carried out by modifying a previous software used in the case of Alternating Current (AC). Finally, experimental tests have been carried out in order to validate simulation results.

Improvement of IPMSM performance through a mixed radial-tangential rotor structure

In this paper an IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) rotor configuration optimization is proposed in order to increase the performances in terms of torque, limiting at the same time the rotor leakage flux. The final mixed radial and tangential rotor configuration here proposed and described determines a reduction in PM material quantity of about 25% compared to a tangential IPMSM one with the same dimension and weight, together with an increase of the motoring torque of about 50%. Analysis, characterization and minimization of IPMSMs cogging torque with different rotor structures

This paper presents the analysis, characterization and comparison of the cogging torque components generated by five different IPMSM rotor structures. More in detail, an IPMSM model (named IPMSM1), which is derived from a commercial geometry, is analyzed by using a Finite Element Method (FEM) approach. Then, four other IPMSM models, which are obtained by modifying the IPMSM1 rotor structure and by maintaining the same stator configuration, are proposed and analyzed. Predictive dead time controller for GaN-based boost converters

A dynamic dead time controller is presented, specifically intended to operate in synchronous boost converters based on GaN field-effect transistor switches. These transistors have a reduced stored charge with respect to silicon metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors with similar breakdown voltage and series resistance, and can operate at higher frequencies with reduced switching losses.
