Hybrid model of an inventer-induction motor system

1969

A model of the three-phase bridge inverter with a wide range of validity is proposed. This model can be used for the simulation of the inverter induction motor system on a hybrid computer or an analogue computer. In the latter case it is necessary to achieve a logical device which realizes the inverter model. After a block diagram for the simulation of the inverter induction motor system is illustrated as well as the circuital diagram of the device which simulates the inverter. Finally the authors describe the tests carried out in order to verify the validity of the inverter model and the correct operating of the device which simulates the inverter.

Dynamics of a minimal consumer network with bi -directional influence

2018

Abstract We study the dynamics of a model of interdependent consumer behavior defined by a family of two-dimensional noninvertible maps. This family belongs to a class of coupled logistic maps with different nonlinearity parameters and coupling terms that depend on one variable only. In our companion paper we considered the case of independent consumers as well as the case of uni-directionally connected consumers. The present paper aims at describing the dynamics in the case of a bi-directional connection. In particular, we investigate the bifurcation structure of the parameter plane associated with the strength of coupling between the consumers, focusing on the mechanisms of qualitative tr…

SM identification of approximating models forH∞ robust control

1999

Set Membership (SM) W, identification of mixed parametric and nonparametric models is investigated, aimed to estimate a low order approximating model and an identification error, giving a measure of the unmodeled dynamics in a form well suited for H, control methodologies. In particular, the problem of estimating the parameters of the parametric part and the H, bound on the modeling error is solved using frequency domain data, supposing lbo bounded measurement errors and exponentially stable unmodeled dynamics. The effectiveness of the proposed procedure is tested on some numerical examples, showing the advantages of the proposed methods over the existing nonparametric H, identification app…

Estimation of errors in mechanical efficiency

1990

Errors in measurements of mechanical work, net energy expenditure and mechanical efficiency (ME) were calculated, when subjects performed isolated eccentric or concentric muscle actions and combinations of these actions [stretch-shortening cycle (SSC) exercises] with a special sledge apparatus. The relative error of mechanical work was 6.1%. When estimating the error of energy metabolism from oxygen consumption the error would be about 4% (McArdle et al. 1981). The maximum error of ME was the sum of these two values (10.1%). Obviously the error of ME was less than 5%, because 30 muscle actions were averaged and, in addition, the errors of mechanical work and energy expenditure were not in t…

Comments on “Finite-Time $H_{\infty }$ Fuzzy Control of Nonlinear Jump Systems With Time Delays Via Dynamic Observer-Based State Feedback”

2014

This paper investigates a defect appearing in “Finite-time H∞ fuzzy control of nonlinear jump systems with time delays via dynamic observer-based state feedback,” which the observer-based finite-time H∞ controller via dynamic observer-based state feedback could not ensuring stochastic finite-time boundedness, and satisfying a prescribed level of H∞ disturbance attenuation for the resulting closed-loop error fuzzy Markov jump systems. The corrected results are presented, and the improved optimal algorithms and new simulation results are also provided in this paper.

Observer-based stabilization of spacecraft rendezvous with variable sampling and sensor nonlinearity

2013

Published version of an article in the journal: Mathematical Problems in Engineering. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/902452 Open Access This paper addresses the observer-based control problem of spacecraft rendezvous with nonuniform sampling period. The relative dynamic model is based on the classical Clohessy-Wiltshire equation, and sensor nonlinearity and sampling are considered together in a unified framework. The purpose of this paper is to perform an observer-based controller synthesis by using sampled and saturated output measurements, such that the resulting closed-loop system is exponentially stable. A time-dependent Lyapunov functional is devel…

Sustainable Method Using Filtering Techniques for a Fermentation Process State Estimation

2020

Winemaking is concerned about sustainable energy availability that implies new methods for process monitoring and control. The aim of this paper is to realize a comparative analysis of the possibilities offered using estimation techniques, balances, and filtering techniques such as the Kalman filter (KF) and the extended Kalman filter (EKF), to obtain indirect information about the alcoholic fermentation process during winemaking. Thus, an estimation solution of the process variables in the exponential growing phase is proposed, using an extended observer. In addition, two estimation solutions of this process with the EKF and an estimation of the decay phase of the fermentation process are …

This paper proposes an observer-based robust guaranteed cost control method for thrust-limited rendezvous in near-circular orbits. Treating the noncircularity of the target orbit as a parametric uncertainty, a linearized motion model derived from the two-body problem is adopted as the controlled plant. Based on this model, a robust guaranteed cost observer-controller is synthesized with a less conservative saturation control law, and sufficient condition for the existence of this observer-based rendezvous controller is derived. Finally, an illustrative example with immeasurable velocity states is presented to demonstrate the advantages and effectiveness of the control scheme.

State feedback control against sensor faults for Lipschitz nonlinear systems via new sliding mode observer techniques

2011

This paper investigates the problem of simultaneous state and fault estimation and observer-based fault tolerant controller design for Lipschitz nonlinear systems with sensor failure. A new estimation technique is presented in this paper to deal with this design problem. In the proposed approaches, the original system is first augmented by a descriptor model transformation, then a new Proportional and Derivative sliding mode observer technique is developed to obtain accurate estimations of both system states and sensor faults. The designing observer is generalized from the PD observer in [3], but is not a trivial extension. Based on the state estimates, a observer-based control strategy is …

State estimation problem is considered for a kind of wireless network control system with stochastic uncertainty and time delay. A sliding mode observer is designed for the system under the situation that no missing measurement occurs and system uncertainty happens in a stochastic way. The observer designed for the system can guarantee the system states will be driven onto the sliding surface under control law, and the sliding motion of system states on sliding surface will be stable. By constructing proper Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, sufficient conditions are acquired via linear matrix inequality. Finally, simulation result is employed to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
