Background The aim of this study was to compare a conventional technique (elastomeric impression material - EIM) and a digital technique (scanner digital model – SDM) on a six-analog master model (MM) to determine which was the most exact. Material and Methods Twenty impressions were taken of a master model (EIM) and twenty scanned impressions (SDM) (True Definition). A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) was used to measure the distances between adjacent analogues (1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6), intermittently positioned analogues (1-4, 3-6) and the most distal (1-6). Se presenta un estudio censal sobre la eficacia escolar en los centros educativos de primaria de la comunidad autonoma de La Rioja, un analisis secundario de una evaluacion diagnostica (ED) previa en esa comunidad. Tuned Mass Dampers (TMD) have been widely used in the passive vibration control of engineering structures, both under wind and seismic loads. Under wind loads, a proper frequency tuning ensures a significant response reduction of the primary structure. While under wind loads the structure is likely to remain in the elastic range of behaviour, when large earthquakes occur it can experience inelastic deformations and damage, with a consequent de-tuning effect. In this paper, the strategy of Intermediate Isolation System (IIS) is proposed for the vertical extension of an aggregate of masonry buildings located in Pozzuoli, south Italy. The effectiveness of IIS working as a nonconventional Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) for the existing construction is assessed in terms of reduction of seismic demand and damage in the masonry structure undergoing inelastic deformation under seismic input. The increasing concern amongst consumers regarding the safety and quality of the beef that they buy is the result of food scares that have characterized the beef market in the last two decades. These scares, together with environmental and ethical concerns, caused consumers to reflect upon the quality of the beef they eat.
