Laparoscopic radical hysterectomy in cervical cancer as total mesometrial resection (L-TMMR): A multicentric experience

Abstract Objective To analyze the feasibility of total mesometrial resection by laparoscopy (L-TMMR) in a multicentric series of early stage cervical cancer. Method We prospectively evaluated a consecutive series of cervical cancer patients with pre-operative FIGO stages IA2–IB1 at the Catholic University in Rome and in Campobasso and the Charite University in Berlin. All cases were assessed at pre-operative MRI scan and clinically confirmed by investigation under anesthesia, adhering strictly to the FIGO criteria. The Potential Role of Lung Ultrasound B-Lines for Detection of Lung Radio-Induced Toxicity in Breast Cancer Patients after Radiation Therapy.

Breast cancer patients exposed to doses of radiation after radiotherapy could develop toxicity to lung. Lung ultrasound (LUS) is able to detect interstitial lung disease by the evaluation of B-lines. The aim of our study was to assess the number of B-lines to diagnose lung involvement after chest radiotherapy.We measured LUS B-lines in the treated and contralateral lung of 20 breast cancer patients, 1-3 months after the end of radiotherapy and 1 year after previous LUS. The latter is influenced by the frequent indication of adjuvant chemo/radiotherapy that they present. Cooking influence on physico-chemical fruit characteristics of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.)

Physico-chemical traits of three eggplant genotypes ("Tunisina", "Buia" and "L 305") were evaluated before and after two cooking treatments (grilling and boiling). Different genotypes revealed different changes after cooking, with "Tunisina" showing a better retention of phytochemicals with respect to other two genotypes. The main physical phenomena were water loss during grilling, and dry matter loss after boiling. Chlorogenic acid, the main phenolic in eggplant, resulted higher in grilled samples, while delphinidin glycosides resulted more retained in boiled samples. Within the Late Roman Cooking Wares (LRCW’s) commercialised in the Western Mediterranean some fabrics such as Fabrics 1.2, 1.6/1.7 and 1.9 (Fulford and Peacock, 1984) have been proposed to have a Sardinian origin.
