Electro-hydraulic compact drives (ECDs) are an emerging technology for linear actuation in a wide range of applications. Especially within the low power range of 5–10 kW, the plug-and-play capability, good energy efficiency and small space requirements of ECDs render this technology a promising alternative to replace conventional valve-controlled linear drive solutions. In this power range, ECDs generally rely on passive cooling to keep oil and system temperatures within the tolerated range. When expanding the application range to larger power classes, passive cooling may not be sufficient. A New Experiment for the Measurement of the g-Factors of 3He+ and 3He2+.

We describe a new experiment that aims at a parts per billion measurement of the nuclear magnetic moment of 3He2+ and a 100 parts per trillion measurement of the Zeeman effect of the ground-state hyperfine splitting of 3He+. To enable ultrafast and efficient experiment cycles the experiment relies on new technologies such as sympathetic laser cooling of single 3He-ions coupled to a cloud of Doppler-cooled 9Be-ions in a Penning trap or a novel spin-state detection scheme.

International audience; As one of the fashionable techniques for nuclear spectroscopy experiments, the beam manipulation in gas-filled Penning traps permits the accurate measurement of some of the ground state properties of exotic nuclides. It was recently applied using REXTRAP for the measurement of the half-life of 38Ca, one of the 0+ → 0+ β-decaying nuclide of interest for the determination of the Ft value for super-allowed transitions, and the test of the unitarity of the CKM matrix. The experimental setup and the original method of beam purification adopted for this measurement is presented.

We present the laboratory results of immersion freezing efficiencies of cellulose particles at supercooled temperature (T) conditions. Three types of chemically homogeneous cellulose samples are used as surrogates that represent supermicron and submicron ice nucleating plant structural polymers. These samples include micro-crystalline cellulose (MCC), fibrous cellulose (FC) and nano-crystalline cellulose (NCC). Our experimental data show that particles resembling the MCC lab particle occur also in the atmosphere. Technical Possibilities of Reducing the Sound Pressure Level Emitted into the Environment by a Power Transformer

The subject presented in this paper refers to measurements and assessment of the corrected sound pressure level values (noise) occurring around a medium-power transformer. The paper presents the values of noise accompanying the operation of the power object before and after its modernization, which consisted in repeated core pressing and replacement of the cooling system. The main aim of the research work was the assessment of the influence of the repair work on the noise level emitted into the environment.

The distribution of metals in the intracluster medium (ICM) of galaxy clusters provides valuable information on their formation and evolution, on the connection with the cosmic star formation and on the effects of different gas processes. By analyzing a sample of simulated galaxy clusters, we study the chemical enrichment of the ICM, its evolution, and its relation with the physical processes included in the simulation and with the thermal properties of the core. ABSTRACT High‐resolution analysis (2277 samples) of magnetic susceptibility (MS) was performed on ∼700‐m‐thick Early–Middle Oxfordian marine marls of the Terres Noires Formation, SE France. MS variations within these sediments record sub‐Milankovitch to Milankovitch frequencies with long‐term eccentricity (405 kyr and ∼2 Myr) being the most prominent. The 405 kyr cycle was used as a high‐resolution geochronometer for astronomical calibration of this poorly constrained interval of Late Jurassic time.
