The article presents the field of study German in Law and Economy leaded by the Institute of German Philology at the University of Opole. Based on the results of a survey, the paper illustrates students’ and alumni’ views and opinions about the study program. The presented feedback could serve as an instrument of evaluation and as a mean of a creative cooperation between academic centers and the local enterprises. Both of the sectors have an important task: to contribute to a sustainable development of the region.

Ageing populations represent a challenge to the sustainability of current healthcare systems. The need to balance these demographic changes with gains in healthy life years and quality of life (QoL) constitutes an additional challenge. Aware of this, the European Commission (EC) launched the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIPonAHA) in 2012. The EIPonAHA is an interdisciplinary and cross-sector initiative involving more than 3000 partners with two specific objectives: to increase the healthy life expectancy of Europeans by two years by 2020, while increasing their QoL. International audience; Radiation protection standards are based mainly on risk estimates from studies of atomic bomb survivors in Japan. The validity of extrapolations from the relatively high-dose acute exposures in this population to the low-dose, protracted or fractionated environmental and occupational exposures of primary public health concern has long been the subject of controversy. A collaborative retrospective cohort study was conducted to provide direct estimates of cancer risk after low-dose protracted exposures. Seniors in the 21st century: social, medical and psychological support

The subject of the analysis addresses seniors. Social, medical and psychological support can be classified as particularly important considering problems seniors face in their everyday life. This implies the need to narrow down the field of analysis to those aspects that the authors are able to responsibly undertake based on their professional experiences and education. Hence, the idea of this article is to explain and justify the need to develop tridisciplinary cooperation: sociology, medicine and psychology. The analysis of issues related to supporting seniors shows also the need to stimulate the processes of the seniors activation and counteracting social marginalization.

Background: The prevalence of frailty at population-level is expected to increase in Europe, changing the focus of Public Health. Here, we report on the activities of the A3 Action Group, focusing on managing frailty and supporting healthy ageing at community level. Methods: A three-phased search strategy was used to select papers published between January 2016 and May 2018. In the third phase, the first manuscript draft was sent to all A3-Action Group members who were invited to suggest additional contributions to be included in the narrative review process. Abstract The dimensions that explain which societal groups cooperate more with which other groups remain unclear. We predicted that perceived similarity in agency/socioeconomic success and conservative-progressive beliefs increases cooperation across groups. Self-identified members (N = 583) of 30 society-representative U.S. groups (gays, Muslims, Blacks, upper class, women, Democrats, conservatives etc.) played an incentivized one-time continuous prisoner's dilemma game with one self-identified member of each of these groups. Bakalaura darba aktualitāti nosaka, sabiedrības un īpaši pacientu ar jau esošo HOPS, nepietiekošās zināšanas par HOPS, kā rezultātā slimība netiek laicīgi diagnosticēta.
