Cooperation and innovation in Italian agribusiness between theoretical analysis and empirical evidence
2022
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected all economic sectors. The agri-food sector has also suffered very clear effects, especially in those production contexts char-acterized by corporate atomization, lack of cooperation, and innovation. An agrifood system, characterized by low levels of innovation and dependence on foreign countries for many raw materials and foodstuffs, must necessarily recover margins of competitiveness if it is to reverse course. This study analyses the current production scenario of the Italian agri-food industry and suggests strategies to recover margins of competitiveness. The study reveals a weak agricultural sector, while the food industry and distribution are highly c…

From classical to operatorial models
2023
Mathematical models for the collective dynamics of interacting and spatially distributed populations find applications in several contexts (biology, ecology, social sciences). Their formulation depends primarily on the (continuous or discrete) description of the space. Reaction-diffusion equations have been widely used in bioecology (morphogenesis, migration of biological species, tumor growth, neuro-degenerative diseases) and in the social sciences (diffusion of opinions or decisionmaking processes), and exhibit complex behaviors (propagation of oscillatory phenomena, pattern formation caused by instability). A reaction–diffusion system exhibits diffusion-driven instability, sometimes call…
Pirmsskolas pedagoga un 2-3 gadus vecu bērnu vecāku sadarbība bērna veselīga dzīvesveida paradumu veidošanai
2020
2016
The notion of intelligence of social relationships enables to explore the communicative approach of participatory democracy. Citizen life is no longer only restricted to putting a ballot into a ballot box but is getting towards true cooperation between the various actors of public communication.
IS PUTTING USERS FIRST AN ORGANISATIONAL KEY TO SUCCESS IN CROSS-PROFESSIONAL COOPERATION? An interview study about cooperation between service units…
2019
Cooperation among professionals in health, social and educational sectors is much needed to let the patient/client/pupil experience an entirety of services provided. However, cooperation is not easy in general. It seems even more challenging when it comes to service provisions to people affected by dual diagnoses. Our research question is influenced by this challenge and reads: What promotes cross-units’ cooperation between professionals involved in service provisions for people affected by both intellectual disability and mental illness? The knowledge is constructed by means of interviewing municipality-employed professionals (N = 21) about their experiences with successful cases. The stud…
Corruption and managing the project cycle : the role of corrupt practices in NGO funding in Pakistan
2013
This Master’s thesis research explores the role of corrupt practices in development projects implemented by local NGOs in Pakistan. The intention is not to expose particular cases of corruption, but to study corruption risks and vulnerabilities in different phases of the project cycle and financial management (budgeting, accounting, financial reporting and auditing). It also explores other program support functions, i.e. procurement and human resources, and their vulnerability to corruption. The contribution of this study to academic literature is increasing awareness of NGO corruption and its different forms in Pakistan from the project management point of view. This is a qualitative study…
